KATE BUSH- "RUNNIN" AND SHEENA EASTON'S "101" Help settle a discussion here. I read an interview that Femi Jiya gave (somewhere) and she had mentioned how Prince was so crazy over the album ("Hounds of Love"). I think that "101" is very similiar to "Running up that hill" if not, at least inspired by it. Do you hear it?

2. '101' was written, recorded, published and copyrighted before 'Running Up That Hill' 3. That just about settles it. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

IAM - I stand corrected by Clubkid and apologise for the incorrect imformatiom beforehand. Running Up That Hill, although appearing on Hounds of Love later than '101' appears to predate it by some considerable time. Its earliest registration date, as far as I can establish is 1985, but much of Kate's work has its origins (not unlike Prince) from earlier times, so it could have been written well before this.
101 was recorded in January 1987 although its registration at the Library of Congress is dated in 1988 when Sheena Easton's album, 'The Lover In Me' emerged. Prince's attraction to the 'Hounds of Love' album has been covered in Uptown magazine in an article which covers the making of 'Why Should I Love You?' It is quite possible that the recollection is of Michael Koppelman's account, rather than something said by Femi Jiya. http://www.uptown.se/2002...bush.shtml Above all else, it is plausible that '101' might have been influenced by 'Running Up That Hill' Thank you Clubkid for the correction. Apologies again. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
