The last time I checked, musicians and singers are employees of a company, so they have to do what the boss says. There's no artistic freedom, unless the act is pressing and releasing their music themselves. I'm pretty sure that the snobs who are crying about someone "selling out" don't go to their job and do what they want, unless they want to get fired. Most people don't even like the places they work at, or the job they're doing. So I guess they're sell outs too.
