Solid album. I won't comment much on the Cascio tracks. It's like beating a dead horse at this point. Behind The Mask is going to be the track that stands out the most to me. Very remarkable.

To me though, IDK, something just doesn't seem right. After 2 listens I Really enjoy the album, but it does seem kind of weak. I don't have the smile on my face I normally get when listening to Michael.

I don't think this is a proper representation of him and his work. Not for the new generation of fans. There is so much more better material out there that would have flowed perfectly with this album.

I think that it would have been better to release an album full of music that defined him throughout his career. While not exactly looking for another Billie Jean, or another Earth Song, I'd like to be witness elements of those. Things that are groundbreaking and natural. This seems like a forced effort. And we all know Michael always said, "let the music create itself."

IDK. *Jordan shrug*

It's because it's not an album. It's a mish-mash collection of songs without a vision or a purpose. It aims to be different things without accomplishing anything, while at the same time there is a lot of controversy surrounding some of the songs, and for good reason.

I've revised my opinion on "Keep Your Head Up" after hearing the final version. There's more Michael on there than I had previously thought. Still augmented with the "other guy",but not as much as "Breaking News" or "Monster". "Keep Your Head Up" overall, does feel like an MJ song, and thank fuck they took some of the "Earth Song" adlibs out. "Monster" and "Breaking News" still don't feel or sound like MJ songs to me.

I think this version of Monster sounds worse than the leak, and it ain't because of 50. His rap isn't bad, no worse than any other rap Mike has featured on his tracks. But the vocals - especially the ad-libs that weren't present in the leak - totally ruins it for me. Just not hearing Mike in this.

I was surprised actually. The adlibs at the end are MJ in my opinion, but they might well be the only parts of the song that are. When he sings the word "WHATTTT", I've never heard any impersonator pull that off that convincingly.

The lead vocals, hell nah, not MJ. I much prefer this version to the leak.

"Best Of Joy" is awesome. The production is lush, it does feel like a demo though.

Ladies and gentleman, Dave motherfucking Grohl killing it on the drums on "Another Day". Never thought I'd be hearing Dave on a MJ song, growing up as a huge fan of both MJ and Nirvana. LOVE this joint.

This one by a mile. Make that ten miles. Make that a hundred miles. Well, you get the point.

"Behind The Mask" AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THIS IS AMAZING

On 'behind the mask' i like mj's vocals but wish they used the beat from the Greg Phillinganes version.

Put MJ's vocals on this version...http://www.youtube.com/wa...qtKHDLr9UQ

Better dance version

because it leaked to the interneterwebz. thousands of people are sharing the whole album on torrent trackers already.... and I've seen it on a whole buncha blogs and download sites too.

regarding "Behind The Mask", I love the music on the Greg Phillinganes version too, but I like this new version just as much. It's pretty faithful to the original music but modernised.

A leak of the original version would be cool, though. I wonder if it's possible to make a mashup of the two.

So know that we have a clip of Mj singing over the phone (on The way you love me) does that de-bunk the theory of some of the Fiasco tracks sounding off because they were sent in via text message or whatever they said? Cos that short clip sure as hell sounds like MJ to me!!

An outrage...ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!! WHAT IS THE JACKSON FIVE WITHOUT MICHAEL JACKSON? I don't care how good this new singer is...it just won't be the same. Nobody can replace Michael....NOBODY! mad pissed

*throws vase at wall*

The more I read it, it sounds as the Jacksons are only going to back up this singer meaning this is again all for naught.

Those brothers are weird... confused Well except Jackie & Tito, who seem to go along for the ride.

This is not going to happen.. Those brothers cannot get their shit together... It is all about power play, and not unity.

Right there with you man sad I still have difficulty believing he's not in hiding somewhere, making all the decisions behind the scenes. Sigh. I miss him so much. cry

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but how could it be that the incredible talents of MJ and Prince could both be born in the same summer of 1958, less than 500 miles apart? Cos both these guys are just beyond compare for me. Maybe Prince was right and there was "Something In The Water" lol

I don't believe we'll ever see talents of either of their magnitude again.

Mozart and Beethoven were around at the same time, I'm sure when they went people were saying the same thing. Might be a god damn while until it happens again though...

I think about that a lot

I was watching Stevie on Larry King last night and he said something Michael and Prince have said. He feels he's just a vessel for God, and it's like as corny as this sounds, I honestly believe that

comfort grouphug I miss him too, guys...everyday...cry

I wrote this for a note on facebook I did in memory of John Lennon...but the sentiment rings true for MJ as well...

"We lose our heros, our humanitarians, the people given the task to change the world, and inspire us to take up the challenge as well. In death, we remember them. But in life, we take them for granted. Blessed are they, the fans, their families, and their true friends, who appreciate them that change the world while they are alive, and preserve their memory when they are gone."

We were blessed, my friends...still are...

Hell Stevie & Marvin were like the Prince & Michael of Motown. All four had something special. Now it's just Stevie and Prince.

falloff

BTW is that Mike singing those unbelievably high notes at the end of Behind the Mask? eek Can´t even tell.

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."
