Ronnie Laws

Who here knows about this cat? One of my favorite Jazz/R&B acts of the 70's and 80's. Friends and Strangers, Solid Ground and the album he did for his sister, Debra. Very underrated as a producer/song-writer IMO. Just wanted to Show Ronnie some love.

...{raising my hand}...I do. A lot of funky stuff can be found on Friends And Strangers. My favorite from him though is "Karmen". That's true pillow talk music there.

Ronnie was a member of Earth Wind & Fire in the early 70s.My favorite song by him is "Every Generation" (1980),that one is so dreamy and effective.

Co-sign! I have loved this song ever since I first heard it as a child in elementary school -- "Every Generation" is by far my favorite Ronnie Laws song! I have a greatest hits collection on vinyl that contains this song; I also have this one on MP3.

Isn't he Debra Laws' cousin? If I'm not mistaken, they wrote and performed the old school r&b hit "Very Special" together. That's such a classic slow jam- I wish Jennifuh Lopez wouldn't have used it for that new track she does with LL Cool J- some things are just better left alone...
