Do you guys just not listen to these artists or have you heard some of their material and you've decided that they are not for you? I will at least listen to a few songs by someone and then decide. Do you do that or do just put up a wall to them just because? Just wondered:) Thanks.

I heard the greatest hits from Air Supply. Their music is too soft for me. And beside, Hall & Oates busted their assses lightyears ago. lol

Usually I give a cursory listen to something before making up my mind, but sometimes hype alone is enough to put me off. I haven't written anything about current popular music because I haven't listened much to it, tbh. The current taste for tone deaf-flat voices doesn't make me wanna rush out and hear it either! lol

Acts that I'm pretty confident that I dislike I've tended to give them a few chances. They are usually classic rock acts that all my Boomer rock head friends like, so I try but I don't force it.

What does these groups have to do with each other? Hall & Oates is blue eyed soul & pop. Air Supply is an Adult Contemporary group.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Hall & Oates started making records in the early 70's and Air Supply came out around 1975. Air Supply was originally a trio.

That dude was just too weird, and also a little trite to me. Weird for the sake of being weird.

I just haven't gotten around to him yet.

Grateful Dead

A few great songs but for the most part they just sucked balls.

John's solo work is awesome. You are missing a lot of great music.

Especially John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, those two are essential post Beatles albums. nod

all their boring ass songs put me to sleep. i really can't name one that i like. the one i would come closest to liking is "i am the walrus", but that's only because it reminds me of "i wonder u"

lol I'm somewhat confused by what 'ignore' means in this thread. I translate it into meaning artists who I've listened to but refuse to buy any of their albums because I don't like them enough to finanically support them or have them take up space in my CD case or on my MP3 player. In that translation, I have to go with:

Elvis

The Beatles

Britney Spears

Diana Ross

Jay-Z

Kanye West

Usher

Chris Brown

Lil' Wayne or anyone from Cash Money

P.Diddy, Diddy, Puff Daddy - any of his ridiculous alter egos

I don't own any of their albums and wouldn't buy any of their albums or even accept their albums if someone gave them to me for free.

If you own one album from any of the artists you listed, you technically didn't ignore them even if you wished you had. lol

There are loads more rock acts that I don't know anything about and don't care to find out.. that's what I call actually ignoring (ignorance? lol)
