The Pointer Sisters Vs. Sister Sledge In the early 70s,both of these girl groups began their careers with little success. After a string of weak-selling albums, both groups hit it big in 1979 (The Pointer Sisters with "Fire",Sister Sledge with "We Are Family") and they entered the 80s armed with even more hits...
The Pointer Sisters---"He's So Shy"(1980),"I'm So Excited"(1982),"Automatic"(1983),"Jump (For My Love)" (1983),etc... Sister Sledge---"Got To Love Somebody"(1980),"All American Girls"(1981),"My Guy"(1983),"Frankie"(1985),etc... Discuss.

Pointer Sisters did Automatic, so they er..automatically win. One of the 10 best pop songs of the '80s and it still sounds fantastic.

That's probably my favorite song by them... "No way to control it,it's totally Automatic whenever you're around...I'm walking blindfolded, completely Automatic, all of my systems are down...down down down"

I gotta say the Pointer Sisters have a slight Vocal Edge for me though I dig Sister Sledge's Jams a bit more overall.it's close but Pointer Sisters get the edge. mistermaxxx
