Beyoncé has revealed that her new album will be recorded with live instruments.

The 'Single Ladies' singer, who is currently working on her fourth studio set, said that she is trying to create her own genre of music with her new record.

In a behind-the-scenes clip of the singer's latest television advert for Vizio, she said: "I love to dance, I love to sing... I'm actually in the studio writing songs and producing [at the moment].

"I have a lot of live instruments that I'm putting into the tracks to change the sound and make my own genre of music."

Beyoncé's forthcoming album, slated for release next year, follows 2008's I Am...Sasha Fierce, which sold over 5 million copies worldwide.

How many people have eaten off the sound "Irreplaceable" since it came out? (Including Beyonce herself)

What sound would that be?

All those songs that sound like "Irreplaceable" since its release.

I love Bey, but she's gonna have to change it up a little bit. It gets repetitive after a while. I'll tell you the break down of her new album she's gonna have

1. An anthem to the ladies telling all the fellas that the relationship is over

2. A record telling the ladies to forget about the man and go out and have fun

3. An emotional record describing how much Jay Z has changed her

4. A song originally penned by/for another artists album and Bey will change ONE word (See Jon McLaughlin for "Smack Into You" and BC Jean "If I Were A Boy") and say she wrote the whole song

Actually, for the lane that she's in...this IS potentially ground-breaking because she does use MUCH instrumentation especially on her first two albums. I am going to need some of you to release to her songs again, because most of the time, Bey does use much instrumentation. In fact, look at this blog entry speaking of Beyoncé's music: Musically, Beyonce’s best work takes the Hip Hop-meets-60’s soul sound pioneered by Lauryn Hill, and makes it danceable, club-ready, and pop-oriented. Listen to “Crazy in Love,” Beyonce’s crowning achievement musically, and you hear many of the same retro-influenced elements present in Hill’s “Do Wop (That Thing);” particularly the raw, live instrumentation, and those insistent, Motown-inspired horns that anchor the song.(And yes, I know that they are sampled but horns are actually a big part of the Beyoncé sound, especially with her first two albums).

And while Dangerously in Love may be Beyonce’s most impactful album, B-Day is unquestionably her best, as she explores this interesting balancing act over the course of the entire record. Live instrumentation was employed for most of the songs on B-Day, as well as some sampling from 60’s and 70’s soul artists like Curtis Mayfield and Betty Wright, and they blend perfectly with a contemporary, fiery hip hop production style that gives the album a rich and musical, yet radio-ready personality; Ike and Tina-meets-Swizz Beats, if you will. Recorded in only two weeks, and comprised of just ten songs, the album’s brevity and clear vision give it a cohesiveness rarely found in most mainstream, pop albums.

http://www.blackyouthproj...e-beyonce/

So Bey's music, especially her uptempos isn't the "typical dance music". Imagine Madonna deciding to take the sound that Mary J Blige does and making it dance-pop. That's the Beyoncé sound(along with other things) and that's what sets her music apart. So if let's say Beyoncé take a song that's electro pop and add instrumentation to it, then that alone would set her apart because electro-pop is that, electronic dance music. So that's probably what she means. But of course, since this board don't like her and love to throw shade at her....

Acoustic and "popish"(though still Contemporary R&B) that is kind of template for why Electro-pop for being as big as it is as a fad. Basically it's the reason why Stargate(producers) "eat" as they do.

Well, this is not going to happen because she will always work with producers. Producers are pretty much the backbone of the genre she's in. She's not Prince or R.Kelly and not trying to be(BBC Interview, it's on youtube...around the 7:25 mark). She brings in producers when composing songs from stratch or she gets demos and overseas her product and/or adds things(because she has her own studio) for whatever she wants for the track.

And people weren't saying this of MJ when all he did was work with Quincy or Janet when all she did was work with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis(But i co sign everyone else who said that she needs to stop working with all the same people.). Especally when Bey works with a lot of different producers, she didn't work with the Neptunes(for example) or Rich Harrison on her last album era and they usually produce funk influenced tracks for her(Work it out, Kitty Kat, Green Light in the case of the Neptunes and CIL, Be with You and Freekum Dress in Rich Harrison's case).

Most of them are, especially all of her ballads. Some times, she does record the track but not her voice but she's more 80% live and 20% pre-recording.

Well I know she's going to ALWAYS work with producers, and thats probably why she's not necesarily going to get where shes talking about going. And i dont mean to put forth that working with producers is bad BUT when you work with all the same people, or same TYPES of people your going to get the same sound. if i wanted to create a new type of music and i typically work with hip hop/ r b/ dance producersa i'm probably not going to do anything but create of fusion of those genres, BUT that is not new.

as far asthe mj/ janet comparison i'm NOT knocking beyonce @ all. BUT for her to say "i'm going to create a new genre of music" that takes ALOT of thinking outside of the box and takign risks by working with new people/ new types of sounds. i dnt ever recall mj (lets leave janet out of this cuz i'm not much of a jj rider) saying i'm going to create a new genre. i DO however, recall him being active in the writing/ producing process most if not all of the time. which if beyonce does that (which she has claimed to do) then that is great. more power to her.

i think she should if anything take a page from her sisters book. love or hate solange but that girl iss NOT doing the same thing as everyone else. she's not blindly riding bandwagons and her music is, if anything, more interesting as a result

Fuck. I really would rather hear some soul claps on Beyonce's new schitt if it replaced those sterile compressed truncated machine claps.
