That doesn't mean he lipped doh! The medley and original version of 'When A Woman Loves' were live.

Lol........that vocal was miked with a vocal track.

.......and it was NOT a good performance IMHO.

[Edited 12/1/10 12:08pm]

What?

He sang the medley the same he always sings them - to a backing track. Um what vocal was mixed with a vocal track? I think you have him confused for NeYo, lmao. R. Kelly rarely lips and he doesn't need to since he can sing his ass off and sounds good live. BTW, you're one of the few that thinks it wasn't good. Most people liked the performance, even people that hate him.

Being that I'm no stranger to having a unique point of view about an artist or performance that's contrary to what most others feel, I respect your opinion nod (...despite feeling R. Kellys performance was exceptional, lol).

It's all good. If folks liked it more power 2 them.

I'll stick with the Prince's and Mint Condition's of the world.

Speaking of Mint Gray have you checked out the kick ass live performances in

London on youtube. They have snippets of several songs including

Look whachu done 2 me. Nice to see the bank kicking ass live and Stokley is

a beast on the drums. How many cats you know sing and play drums and guitar

live all in one show? Certainly not any of these modern ass clowns.

I saw those. Very nice.

I saw them here a few months ago live. Those cats blew the crowd away.

I really need a live SB recording of there 2010 sets.

That is very true Raphael did a good job and it worked. So the music industry is copying him now. U forgot Eric Benet's throwback sound on his new cd.

Too bad Raphael's nasty attitude toward me dethroned me as a fan of his.

I'm sorry to hear that. That's all it takes to turn you off to someone for life, lol. Though on his behalf, I met him in an airport a few years back, and after speaking with him for about 5 minutes, found him to be down to earth, casual, and comfortable during our brief conversation.

I imagine that would be a difficult part of being a celebrity: Even when you're feeling like shit, you can't afford to give anyone a bad attitude. I can think of a few celebs that gave me a bad attitude when I spoke with them. But at the same time, I knew they were dog-tired when we met. Still left me with a bad impression.

3 that immediately come to mind:

  • Raven Simone
  • Vivica Fox
  • Tim Allen

Well each time I talked with him he was the same way to me. I guess he just doesn't like me for a personal reason. I have Vivica stories to. But i admire her hustle. So i won't put her on blast...lol

Raven i sat directly behind her at an award show when she was fat. So she seem like she was being incognito, so I didn't bother her....

I've finally seen it all.

R Kelly did the damn thing! His salute to Frankie Lymon, that no one has even mentioned...had me on my feet!

The Anita Baker Tribute? OMG!!! That is how the fuck you do a tribute to someone of her musical stature!

SOMEBODY over at BET, read the emails that were sent, cursing their stankin' asses out, for those whack ass Michael Jackson and Prince "tributes"!

Now...they should do them over...get them right...and we'll be cool as cucumbers ...as far as I'll be concerned. lol

It doesn't feel to me like that type of weight loss is by choice. The difference in his appearance is quite remarkable.

The thing that always tickled me though about those old promotional shots is how nearly every one of them have him with his fist up by his chin, lol. Like he was thinking... "Yeah, THIS is the shot", lol. Must be his go-to "Player Pose", lol.

He has a new album out, so he probably felt the need to get his face back out there. But from what I've been reading in the days since the Soul Train Awards, seems like people are focused on his appearance more than his music right now. I'm wishing him well, and have missed not seeing him out there in recent years.
