Speaking of Ron's current wife, is it me or did she look bored as hell? Not because of the awards show, like bored with him? I don't know. Maybe I'm looking too much into it, but it just seemed like she was sitting there thinking "sigh, another one of HIS boring ass events". Then to see her up there singing backup while he was performing, and mind you I knew she was a backup singer anyway, but dang, you would think she would've been a notch higher as Ron Isley's wife to not HAVE to perform backup anymore...especially for him. Okay that's my rant. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Well, that wife didn't look too smart and she did look bored. But to me, it is the typical old musician marries sweet young thing sitch. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

My observations:
1. Freddy Jackson looked tore up from the floor up. 2. Dionne Farris is no longer cute. 3. Lala Hathaway scared me. 4. Eryka Badu's performance was less than 5. El DeBarge's voice is finally cracking from all that crack 6. Ron Isley is too old to keep spending monies on these too young honies 7. I'm tired of Taraji and Terrence, lord can we get some new hosts. 8. Tyler Perry is getting BIG 9. Anita Baker looked fabulous, her sons looked fabulous, and her award was long over due. 10. Where was Niki Minaj? 11. Eminem had a lot of nerve not showing up and having Wolf Blitzer accept on his behalf - trifling. 12. R. Kelly's new song and his opening performance was the best treat of the entire show and I don't even like that panty freak anymore. 13. Ciara should have been there performing "Speechless' 14. Bruno Mars wasn't half bad 15. There were way too many chicken heads in the first few rows.

It appeared to me that he has not been well. My heart goes out to him.

My heart goes out to him too which is why I think he should have stayed his ass home.

There is no excuse for the state of black radio when you see what happened during that Anita Baker tribute. Dionne Farris, Kem, Rachelle, Lalah, Chrisette Michele….what true talents. And how cute was Goapele?

I personally enjoyed her tribute, especially Kem and Rachelle's....gosh I love me some Kem...but Dionne Farris they could have done without. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Yes I agree with the Freddy Jackson comment, he looks so unrecognizable. I felt sorry for him, looks like he's been sick. If it's just a thing of him losing too much weight on his, then for God sakes Freddy put the breaks on!!!
I disagree with you about El Debarge...he was truly a breath of fresh air and I think he sounded great. Gotta love Eldra and he was especially looking delicious. Wonder where his FIONE bruh was at (Chico)????
I really enjoyed Bruno Mars' performance, I need to check out more of his music.
Umm yeah, where did all those porn stars in the front row come from?? I was asking that myself. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I didn't see it myself but as for Freddie "looking sickly", he's been that way for YEARS.
As for Kells, I'm not surprised he turned it out, when he really turns on the charm, he can wow you. I'll see it online later.
As for El, well after being on drugs for 15 years, we should be glad he still has a VOICE at all and still one SOULFUL enough to knock you out in a good way, plus he's almost 50 and a LEGEND so I'll excuse any "cracks". Least it ain't on a Whitney Houston level lol

Freddie came out on the stage all enthusiastic and shit. I swear he was gonna spin and fall back on one leg

El may have to pace himself bit, he was in Chi-Town a month or so ago and my relatives and friends said he was in fine voice, thin at times but nothing persistent. This is a 50 year old man he can't be sangin' 24/7 seven days a week. Nah, he ain't no Houston, she's done turn her over.

I was on another forum said Freddie was an old school "queen"

It was live and you're just bitter

I really can't stand you

I think the remix of WAWL was lipped when he was dancing with all the dancers. He's not a good a lip syncer so it was pretty obvious that part of the performance was lipped. But the rest of the performance was live.

He used a backing track on that performance. No doubt. Watch it again.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
That doesn't mean he lipped The medley and original version of 'When A Woman Loves' were live.

Lol........that vocal was miked with a vocal track. .......and it was NOT a good performance IMHO. [Edited 12/1/10 12:08pm]

Whatever he used, I was very impressed with his performance. And I haven't been particularly interested in R. Kelly since around 1993/94. After Sunday's BET performance, I'd absolutely be interested in seeing him in concert.
