Aah the early 80s, when gaydars hadn't been invented yet

Andrew is married to one of the members of Bananarama. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Here's a recent picture of Andrew Ridgeley.

Still looking good...but dang, what happened to all that hair???

Andrew is straight. | |

Age and stress probably. Least George still has a full head of hair. [Edited 11/16/10 18:36pm]

It was definitely a "bromance".

There were talks awhile back for Wham! to do a reunion tour, but Andrew wasn't really interested in getting back into the spotlight and the things that go along with it. He likes the quiet life. But I hear that Bananarama is doing a reunion. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. Yeah Andrew really didn't wanna be in the spotlight even during the Wham! years. Andrew released one solo album and then retired after that. He just isn't interested.

I've never heard one track for the album Son Of Albert. I was told years ago that the album kinda of suck.

I think I'm the only person who bought the album, lol. I haven't listened to it in years. George sings background on one of the songs called Red Dress. It's nothing like Wham! or George's solo music. It's a guitar pop rock album. If you like Def Leppard or Dr. Feelgood era Motley Crue with some Richie Sambora like guitar talkbox, you might dig it. The thing is when Andrew released his album in 1990, hair rock was on the way out. I don't think anyone took him seriously anyway. I remember Shake got a little radio play, but it didn't get anywhere. If anyone wants to hear them, I found most of the songs that are on the album on Youtube. This bitch just skipped onto the stage like a big ole giddy sunshiny yellow gay banana.
I've always loved Ray of Sunshine.

I wonder how many bottles of hairspray he went through between 1983-1988 "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I wasn't shocked, but I have no gaydar, so I certainly didn't "know". Same with Clay Aiken, so that should tell you how clueless I am.

I was still surprised when Gary Glitter was uncovered as a kiddie-fiddler. I can tell you that straight away I stopped wanting to be in His Gang.
