You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Jan Hammer - Theme from Miami Vice

Mike Post - Theme from Hill Street Blues

Joe Satriani - Surfing With The Alien

Dick Dale and the Del Tones - Misirlou

Harold Faltermeyer - Axel F

Robert Miles - Children

Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells

Chuck Mangione - Feels So Good

Art of Noise - Close To The Edit

And I'm not sure if they can be classified as pure instrumentals, but I like them anyway:

George Kranz - Din Daa Daa

The Chemical Brothers - Block Rockin' Beats

Madness - One Step Beyond

I guess no 1 has ever heard of the Classic instrumental...."Rain Forrest" by Paul Hardcastle , str8 up bangin instrumental I always wanted 2 sample that 4 a song I worked on long ago. Also Hip Hop producer/rapper DJ Quik has some early jams called "Quik's Groove" I, II, III, IV,V in my opinion I AND II are the best . razz
