When people think of Michael's music certain songs always seem to pop up.

One song that whilst a great single never seems to get the accolades it deserves in the mix of his greatest songs is Remember The Time. Every time I hear it I just get caught up in this perfect pop r&b hook.

Love that song. Love the video. Love the his outfit. Love the choreography. Love the gold kitty litter at the end.

Though, I think it depends on the crowd. I think that song was a bigger r&b hit rather than a pop one.

[Edited 11/20/10 19:14pm]

It was #1 R&B and #3 pop in early 1992 so I think the pop audience knows it a little bit.

That's me and my mom's jam! I remember trying to do the dance moves every time the video came on, especially the move where ol' girl is leaning back so far that her head is about to touch the ground.

Honey, stop talking and just create the music.

Here are the proper framing for all of MJ's videos on vision.
Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough 1.33:1
Rock With You 1.33:1
She's Out of My Life 1.33:1
Billie Jean 1.33:1
Beat It 1.33:1
Thriller 1.33:1 tv version, Theater screenings in 84 were matted at 1.85:1. I'm unsure if Landis framed it this way. But the lighting flub in the graveyard may have meant to be matted off.
Bad 1.33:1
The Way You Make Me Feel 1.33:1
Man In the Mirror (1.33:1 for news/montage version/ Matted 1.85:1 Moonwalker version)
Dirty Diana 1.33:1
Smooth Criminal (1.33:1 tv version/ Matted 1.85:1 Moonwalker version)
Another Part of Me 1.33:1
Speed Demon 1.33:1 tv version/ Matted 1.85:1 Moonwalker version
Come Together 1.33:1 tv version/ Matted 1.85:1 Moonwalker version
Leave Me Alone 1.85:1 (because it was created using optical effects it has a fixed Aspect ratio, this is why even in Full Screen versions of Moonwalker it is letterboxed)
Liberian Girl 1.33:1
Black or White 1.33:1
Remember The Time 1.85:1
In the Closet 1.33:1
Jam 1.66:1
Heal The World 1.33:1
Give In To Me 1.33:1
Who Is It 2.35:1
Will You Be There 1.85:1 (Although someone mentioned that it appears anamorphic on the vision dvd. Strange because the video uses footage from the MTV special, which was early 90's broadcast video, which certainly wasn't anamorphic. I'm interested to see what the deal is quality wise for this video. EDIT: I have learned the letterboxing was done in the edit in 1992. By that doesn't make the video in true 16x9, in fact when blown up to 16x9 is looses so much quality it's probably not worth it.)
Gone Too Soon 1.33:1
Scream 1.33:1
Childhood 1.85:1
You Are Not Alone 1.33:1
Earth Song 1.33:1
They Don't Care About Us 1.33:1 Both versions
Stranger In Moskow 1.85:1
Blood On The Dancefloor 1.33:1 All versions
Ghosts 1.33:1 tv version/ Matted 1.85:1 theater version
You Rock My World 1.85:1
Cry 2:35:1

Best Buy says $39.99

If the stores have alot in stock perhaps it'll discount. I didn't pre order (which I think it comes to same amount w/shipping etc.) So I'm willing to pay this for it.

Justin Bieber: Michael Jackson's 'Man in the Mirror' Inspires 'Pray'

Michael Jackson apparently plays a part in the writing of Justin Bieber's new song "Pray". In a recent radio interview, the 16-year-old pop sensation admitted that he was inspired by the late King of Pop's "Man in the Mirror" when writing the inspirational song for his upcoming acoustic album, "My Worlds Acoustic".

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday, November 17, the "Baby" hitmaker spilled, "I definitely thought of Michael [Jackson's] 'Man in the Mirror' when I was writing it." On why he wrote the song, he shared, "There's so many songs about love and I think that it's great to take it out of that world for a minute. There's other things that are important and I just wanted to be motivational."

Describing "Pray" further, Justin added, "It's a very uplifting song, very motivational, it definitely comes from the heart. I think everybody young or old will be able to relate to this song." During the radio chat, he also noted that he will perform the tune at the American Music Awards this coming Sunday, November 21.

Justin's "My Worlds Acoustic" album will be out in stores across the U.S. on Black Friday, November 26. Of the acoustic effort, he said, "I think that there's always going to be people that try to bring you down and you just got to prove them wrong. I'm just blessed to have devoted fans. My fans just kind of spoil me."

Everyone needs to get hip to Forever Michael [1975]

nod You can say that again! Probably his most consistent solo Motown-era LP, but all of his solo albums from that period were excellent and shouldn't be missed. It just pisses me off everytime when someone considers Off The Wall to be his solo debut and think that his Motown stuff was just Jackson Five.

I think some MJ fans of this generation forget (or don't wanna know in some regard) that Michael really made impact in the first thirteen professional years of his career (1966-1979). The chitlin' circuit, the Jackson 5, Motown, the solo work, all those vocal imitators from back in the '70s (Foster Sylvers being an obvious example), etc. There's a lot of great work he did prior to Off the Wall but somewhere between his birth and 1979 a lot of facts don't get printed in the mainstream. Same goes for folks who think everything went downhill after Thriller. Michael had a great run until his death even. For someone to have that much impact in a 43-year career is astounding and it's something few artists ever have if they're lucky.

You hit it right on the head Timmy! Before Off The Wall and Thriller, Michael had such a large body of work that hasn't really been brought up or in other words, misjudged and undervalued in today's music landscape and that's just wrong to me. Michael wasn't just this pop figure that changed the landscape of the music industry with his dance talents and remarkable album and single sales, but he basically had a recording career that was just as rewarding as his breakthroughs as an adult solo artist. Even before his death, there was a great wealth of material that never got enough credit because of the preconceived notion that he had fallen off the radar with his success and musical advancement. The controversy and stories have played a great deal in what people (both old and new fans, casual and hardcore) value about his body of work in the past and present and that's also criminal because it's always about the music first and foremost. Sometimes one has to seperate those ideals because they just don't mix.

I strongly agree

I remember reading a UK magazine review of Dangerous and the writer said "Michael Jackson's okay, but I personally believe he hasn't done anything great since Thriller"

THERE'S ONLY ONE SOLO ALBUM BETWEEN THRILLER AND DANGEROUS! lol
