Synth Pop

What do you think of the genre of the music

Synth Pop that was popular in the 80's music?

even harder rock acts couldn't ignore it(Queen-Radio Gaga)

Gary Newman,Human League,Yazoo,Depeche Mode...

I hated the genre before but now days i enjoy in its cold and futuristic sounds and

i'm glad it's getting a revival with new bands such

as La Roux,Ladyhawke,Ladytron,Junior Boys...

I had hoped it would stay in remission. And yes, I am comparing it to cancer.

I still rock out to 1970's & 80's synth pop classics from The Human League, Heaven 17, Yaz(oo), Devo, Gary Numan, & Depache Mode.

Long before Lady Gaga finally had her first taste of mainstream success, synth-pop already was building a comeback in the 2000's through artists like Ladytron (who's first 2 albums are way better than their recent releases!), Miss Kitten & The Hacker, Felix Da Housecat, & Stuart Price/Les Rhymes Digitales. Even a mainstream artist like Kylie Minogue has done some tracks that are synth-pop in nature. cool

I preferred it the first time obviously yet I can see the appeal of the new wave (pun intended) of 80's influences.

If it makes people happy is all that counts eh? smile

Everytime an artist/band builds a melody using keyboards or synths, then that's synth pop...

synth pop is everywhere

I do dig the synth arrangements.

I have no qualms about the genre...

The 80's was when I actually turned on the radio to listen to the music of that time. I enjoyed the music and, of course, I wanted to hear Donna Summer's songs on the radio. Today's music does not "move me", if you will, like the music of the 80's did. And I'm sure there were some synth pop songs I loved back then as well.
