Yes, when I watched, I thought he just passed from cancer. It seems like Will took herion as a way for coping with his cancer.

I got rid of Directv and went to Cablevision, yesterday,(long story), so I don't have TV1 anymore. Hopefully, I will be able to catch it on Youtube.

Because I'm a music enthusiast and somewhat of a historian, episodes like this one don't work for me. They are telling me things I already knew. Ep's like Angela Winbush, The Fat Boys and Heatwave, Teena Marie, Stacy Lattisaw & Shalamar held my interest because there wasn't much written and said about them in their hey day. I'm glad they didn't linger on about Gerald and Sean's death. Groups and Solo artists that had tremendous global success shouldn't be on Unsung. Folks that you know, but you don't know the full back story make better Unsung episodes. IMO. rolleyes

Yeah it's all a game when it comes to Directv and your local cable tv

for customers. They give you a good deal for a year(directv) and local

cable(6 months) before they jack up your prices. The saving grace right

now for me with Directv is TVone, the NBA channel 216, and the NFL Network

but if they try to screw me i'll drop them like a hot potato.

They could do a two-hour documentary on their story. They didn't need "Unsung", they really didn't. As far as I know the O'Jays are far from "unsung".

It wasn't even that for me. I recently got a flatscreen for my mom and wanted to switch their HD package. Anyway, the tech came out and spent 3hrs, looking for an HD signal that was not there. He then calls this in to his supervisor, who told him, that he would have to come and survey my "hood", to see if there was a signal. To make a long story short, I had to call Direct, to find out the results because, it is not their policy to call. I had Cablevision, 20 years ago and then switched to Direct in, 2003. I have NBA TV and I can watch my Jets & Giants, plus I have On Demand. The ironic thing is, my bill per month is cheaper now, than with Directv.

What I think they're doin are cts more unsung to the white public. They O'Jays may have plenty of top 10 pop hits, but who really knows thm outside the RnB community?

The O'Jays definitely have a very diverse fanbase and has had one for over 30 years, so everyone pretty much knows who they are no matter what race one is. I think what TV One is doing is trying to make the Unsung brand more accessible and popular by adding more generally well-known stars who may not of had their stories told before or better yet, told on the screen. The episodes on Teddy, the O'Jays, and George Clinton were perfect examples of that and I think they are gonna keep the momentum going like that with future episodes.

Allot of people don't know the history about some of these groups, especially young people. Take Tami Terrell for example, there were things that I found out, that I just did not know. The fact that one wins allot of awards, makes allot of money and has hit singles, does not mean that they are not, human beings that have gone through alot of drama.

And it's a good thing. No one else is or will do these shows.

I've enjoyed the majority of them.

You can't explain the unexplainable. This show and this channel and the micro media mole who run it lack credibility to be covering these subjects. It's like asking Condi Rice or Clarence Thomas to host a retrospective on EPO. If in your core, you don't get it, you never will.

You can watch the O'Jays episode on TVOne's website. The Unsung episodes stay on the website for a brief time, though.
