The walk of fame is just pure bullshit to me.

The Rock & Roll HOF is a great choice for first runner-up. Putting Prince in the HOF ahead of KISS is one thing. But put ABBA in the HOF ahead of KISS?!?

Now THAT^ is pure bullshit.

falloff Exactly! If Britney can get one than anyone with real talent should get one and nobody should say shit about it. Hell, Lassie has one too and she was a dog. Seriously, fans nominate their favorite celebrity and it only costs $25,000 to actually purchase the star.

Seriously, the could give a star to Snooki from 'Jersey Shore' because according to this site, she qualifies.

The day Snooki gets one, it's through disbelief

What's wrong with this picture?? lol

Madonna said she wouldn't "pay thousands of dollars to be stepped on." P and M don't need a tacky tourist attraction to remind people of their names.

A star doesn't mean anything, really. There are many amazing actors/actresses and famous pop icons (and legends) that don't have a star. It goes through a corporate system and doesn't justify anything. I'm shocked she has one. Someone must be financing big time.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://en.wikipedia.org/w...lk_of_Fame

Each year, an average of 200 nominations are submitted to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Walk of Fame Selection Committee. Anyone, including fans, can nominate anyone active in the field of entertainment, as long as the nominee or his or her management is in agreement with the nomination. (A letter of agreement from the nominated celebrity or representative must accompany the application.) Nominees must have a minimum of five years' experience in the category for which they are nominated as well as a wide variety of awards and honors within the industry. They must also meet a certain amount of charitable deeds [74].Posthumous nominees must be deceased at least five years. At a meeting each June, the committee selects approximately 20 celebrities to receive stars on the Walk of Fame during the following year. One posthumous award is given each year as well. The nominations of those not selected are "rolled over" to the following year for reconsideration; those not selected two years in a row are dropped, and must be renominated to receive further consideration. Living recipients must agree to personally attend a presentation ceremony within five years of selection. A relative of deceased recipients must attend posthumous presentations. Presentation ceremonies are open to the public

A fee (currently USD $30,000), payable at time of selection, is collected to pay for the creation and installation of the star, as well as general maintenance of the Walk of Fame. The fee is usually paid by the nominating organization, which may be a fan club, or a film studio, record company, broadcaster, or other sponsor involved with the honoree's current or ongoing project.

This is nothing against Christina Aguilera, but didn't this "honor" used to mean something? I remember growing up hearing about the 'Walk Of Fame' thinking it was something special, important, rare. Maybe it never was. Maybe it's always been basically meaningless. Not sure. But most of the people they add to it these days (which also seems like a lot more than it used to be) don't really do much for me.

Oh please! rolleyes Britney got a star on the WOF amount 8 years earlier. And THAT was after only 2 career albums! disbelief

It was in 2003, after 4 (consective #1) albums, not 2. Britney actually has the huge sales, cultural impact and world records to justify her star. Christina? She has a good voice and some Grammys. Lame.

Her elbows and knees bend like that. I've seen it in other people too. Maybe double jointed?

I always thought the Walk Of Fame was more of a way for fans to express appreciation, more than something an artist "earned" like a Grammy or whatever. Isn't it usually fanclubs that pay for them?

Bingo!!!! In fact, Bwboard.net(Beyoncé's biggest unofficial board) was looking for a way to get Bey a star also. If fanclubs don't do it, a recording artist's label can do it as well. It's no biggie for C-Tina to get this.

I am no fan of hers, but it's better than say...Katy Perry getting one.

Anything is possible. And since this can be bought LEGALLY....

But on the flip side, people complained about Madonna and Prince not having one, why not organize something so that it could happen? I mean, really. This is something that the fans could have a hand in.

You have to be nominated in order to get a star. The nominee has 5 years to claim their star. Christina was nominated in 2008, she claimed it in 2010.

disbelief I hate her with this platinum blonde color. It's super fugly and I wish she would change back to the black hair but without all that god-awful spray on tan that made her look like a damn carrot and all those hideous facial piercings. She and Britney both look like hot messes these days but at least Christina can sing so I'm not as harsh on her.
