I watched it. The title track was written for Michael Jackson. I wonder if Jackson has a version recorded?

Also, this whole album seems to be like Raphael Saadiq's "The Way I See It"

I thought the same thing.

Why are you acting like R Kelly can sing in every registers and be better than those guys in every single register ? He can't, they all have differents voice, different strenght and weakness, to act like R Kelly is on an other planet is foolishness, his soultrain awards performance was verry good, Number One Hit and Ignition of Fallon were just alright, he has his lane and as soon as he steps out of it, he makes mistake like all of his pairs ....

He has strenght and weakness like all of the singer that cap listed. Brian Mc Knight, Anthony Hamilton, K-ci & Jojo back in the days, young Maxwell, Eric Bénet, Rahsaan Patterson, I've seen them all live, at this level its just a matter of taste, yall are acting like there is some objectivity saying that Kellz out sing those guys, that's some foolishness.

The fact that you can't spell 'strength' is foolishness.

He does have a wide range and can sing in falsetto and can easily shift from baritone to alto with ease. He has exceptional vocal techniques - breathing and vocal control. I can go on.

R. Kelly > those guys you listed. I can easily point out the flaws in all those guys vocals you listed.

But I would list Eric Benet above R. Kelly, and maybe Maxwell. Not D'Angelo... D'Angelo has music that fits his voice perfectly, but I don't consider him a vocalist.

Frank McComb is a good singer, but doesn't have near the range R. Kelly does.

There's no point in making a giant list and then arguing in circles, its all opinion at the end of the day.

And yeah, I can TOTALLY hear MJ ripping up "Not Feelin' The Love". R. Kelly's ad-libs at the end of that are very MJ-ish. I'm glad you guys pointed that out, because now I can really hear it.

*DEAD*

Have you heard how these guys sound outside of a falsetto register? A mess.

Yes, I have. I'm familiar with all three artists' you've bolded, and my personal opinion is that while I prefer R. Kelly's music above most of them, vocally, I think Eric Benet and Maxwell are better.

I certainly don't see how they sound "a mess" regardless of how they're singing.

Well, the same can be applied to Prince, as well. He sounds best in his falsetto register. Without it he sounds pretty average.

Eric Benet has plenty of songs where he doesn't sing in his falsetto. Maxwell too, or at least he limits it.

I can understand someone saying they prefer R. Kelly's voice, but flat-out calling them out as bad singers or acting like it's not even within the realm of sanity to compare them? Doesn't make much sense to me.

Beats the hell out of Double Up and TP3 Reloaded.

In his defense, TP3 actually had some songs I enjoyed, as did Double Up, but they were incredibly lopsided. Too much rap/hip-hop stuff on Double Up (and not the good stuff like Homie Lover Friend or Home Alone).

TP3 had some good cuts mixed in with some lame reggae-tinged stuff.

Happy People/U Saved Me was a good album, but I think I prefer this.

I haven't listened to Untitled enough to really make an opinion. It sounded pretty generic to me.

So not only do I consider it a huge improvement over his more recent material, its also just a flat-out good album. Maybe his best since R.

I'm not saying they're bad singers. They're decent singers but no where near R. Kelly vocally.

AP music writer chooses 10 best albums of the year

5. R. Kelly, "Love Letter": No midgets, no booty calls, no sex in the kitchen. R. Kelly trades perversion for perfection on the old-school throwback "Love Letter" — classy and classic.

AP Music Writer Picks Best Singles of the Year

1. "When a Woman Loves," R. Kelly: An absolutely stunning love song with a pitch-perfect vocal performance that will send chills down your spine — for the right reasons.

Katy Perry, R. Kelly And Conan O'Brien: The Other Best Albums Of 2010

4. R. Kelly, Love Letter
R. Kelly is probably my favorite artist right now, mostly because his albums are full of hook-heavy songs that succeed in spite of (or in some respects because of) his unchecked id. But for whatever reason, Kels left the crazy sauce on the shelf for the construction of Love Letter, which taps deep into his love for old-school soul crooners like Sam Cooke. The result is a fantastic vehicle for his voice, which is one of the sweetest, most dynamic instruments in modern R&B. Even his version of Michael Jackson's "You Are Not Alone" (which Kelly wrote) works, simply because the melody is so strong and Kels' voice is so full of ache.

LOOOOOL, I know, I know, I need to work harder on my english, it's not my mother langage and it wasn't even my first foreign langage in high school, but I have no excuse, I did 6 month of college in the US (shame on me). Just be indulgent.

All of those guys have range, falscetto and can flex their voice verry easily, they have their strength (woooo hoooo) and can sing songs that Kellz could not sing to save his live and respectively.

You like R Kelly better but he's not better, I've seem them all live (R Kelly included) and trust me he's not better, they are all different, and they all have a lane they need to stay in ! I can' point out flaws on R Kelly vocals too, you're acting like he's the ultimate singer and he's not, PERIOD. It's subjective guy ...

Are you on drugs? are you sick? are you okay? eek confused

R. Kelly > those guys. Case closed. They don't have his range, versatility or strength. You can't find flaws in his voice because there's none. Deal. But then again this is the same guy that said he would rather dance like Usher than MJ. Therefore making your opinion invalid from the jump. It’s obvious that you’re just trolling.

To even have the audacity to mention those guys in the same sentence with R. Kelly is an insult.

R. Kelly Moves 160k Copies of Love Letter, First Week Numbers Inaccurate

What is being dubbed as the surprise hit of fourth quarter, R. Kelly’s Love Letter, was reported as selling an impressive 150,000 copies within it’s first week in stores with little to no promotion, and no single to speak of. A source within Kelly’s camp contacted me today to inform me that the album actually moved 10k more than reported (160k is a more accurate total), and the project was apparently undershipped by the label. Best Buy and Wal-Mart locations across the country ran out of copies within days, and I’m told the label has shipped an additional 300,000 units to combat the mishap. Very impressive in this day and age, I must say. The album, which may throw some Kells fans for a loop, is a departure from his traditional sound, but his risk seems to be paying off.
