This live clip is one of Chaka's best performances ever. I still get goosebumps when I hear this song evn though I've seen it a million times already

I love this song. It's so simple and beautiful. Vocally, I know they can’t compare but I really love the subtly of Vanessa Williams’ rendition as well.

Its ok. MJB put her version of sadness & longing into her rendition which is the reason why my bias for Chaka is low in this case

At least she didn't embarrass herself and try to outdo Chaka

A slow grooving classic, such an incredible sequence of songs on Ask Rufus, maybe Egyptian Song is my fav.

To me, it's the female version of the Isley Brothers' "Footsteps in the Dark" (and a little of "Voyage to Atlantis") musically in a sense. Just the way the music on "Everlasting Love" and "Footsteps" sound so similar I thought it made some connection in that way.

The Style Council used to include it in their live set, nowhere near as good as Chaka's version..
