Lil Wayne was released from Rikers Island Prison in New York City early this morning. The rapper's one-year sentence was cut short by nearly four months.

The sentence was issued after Wayne pleaded guilty last October to gun possession charges arising from a July 2007 arrest. The reduced sentence was part of a plea deal that was further shortened due to good behavior.

Weezy will celebrate his freedom with an extravagant party at a Miami strip club on Sunday night. He is also slated to make a surprise appearance at Drake's Las Vegas concert on Saturday night.

Mack Maine, president of Wayne's Young Money record label, also noted that the label and friends will "treat him like a king, like the royalty that he is, and make him feel like we really missed him and welcome him back to the family, basically."

Wayne's latest album, I Am Not a Human Being, was released in September and reached the number one spot on the Billboard charts.
