I think Cherelle just suffered the same fate as Alex O'Neal. Jam and Lewis got busy

with the Mo Money soundtrack which left them no time to work on subsequent Cherrelle and

O'Neal albums post 1990. Also the duo started there on Perspective label and signed new

artists which kind of left Cherrelle and O'Neal out in the cold.

Why didn't they take Cherrelle and Alex with them?

Good question? Maybe they were still under contract with Tabu.

Color me dumb, but what does that mean, best metronome onstage-she swayed back and forth or something. And yes, I know what I just said is pure comedy-that's how you know I'm not totally dumb.

A metronome is a device which keeps the rhythm in control or on point, so the band would just have pay attention to Miss Wiggle, lol

I just saw the show not too long ago, the only thing I'm not buying about is the subject about her ex, Eddie or something like that.

It's easy to believe stories about female singers being abused and/or taken advantage of by their husband/manager, but it didn't fly in this episode.

I think he was the stable one and Micki was the nut in the relationship, she probably jumped on him, and she had sustain defensive wounds from him.

Plus the show tried to say that her ex was the cause of her career suffering, I call bullshit on that also. Record companies already don't give a damn about you unless you pulling platinum sellers, she just didn't have it.

I hope next season they'll do something on Cherrelle because both her and Micki's career parallel each other but Cherrelle had that it factor more than Micki and I think she was exiled (I hate the term "blackballed") from the industry also.

I've always wondered why Cherrelle never released anything between 1991 and 1999.

I thought Cherelle was too busy being drug buddies with Whitney during this time

Riiiight!

And I'm sure thats why he declined to do the interview wink anyway, Miki already acknowledged her mental issues and she also acknowledged that she was the one with the "daddy" issue(I hate this word too), hence why she was in a destructive relationship after the other,,,,,I think she took full claim of her misjudgments from the interview.

I agree with you though that the show was biased regarding the decline of her career. It was THAT among the accumulations of other stuff too,,including her. But it wasn't because she wasn't platinum, her last record for Atlantic was a big seller and still they didn't give her the time of day SIMPLY because like she said, they didn't have the money to bill her as the so-called "Next Whitney" and thats why she went to this bogus label(by Stephanie Mills' sister-in-law I believe? somebody correct) - BIG mistake.

Anyway, I was surprised they didn't talk about the burning of her house,,,,that would've been a meaty unsung material.

what happened with the house burning? Was this not a simple fire? was it intentional or some sort of controversy surrounding it?

I thought this would be boring. Anything but. Her mom was gay, married an ex con who came onto Micki and Micki's mom believed the ex con and kicked Micki out.

Micki also was involved on and off with Gerald Levert, married an abusive man who wrecked her career and most of all, she seems batshit crazy.

Didja see her on The Monique Show" last year? She still got the voice, but you could clear as day see that she'd been thru some shit over the years.....I always wondered if Micki and Gerald had somethin goin a la Michael Henderson & Phyllis Hyman

was there something going on between those 2??

Just for the record Miki was managed by one Joesph Jackson.... and this kid has spent a lot of time with the family

check out this part of an interview he gave

How do you know the Jackson family?

B. Howard: My mother was managed by Joseph way long before I was even born. He was one of their first managers. They took care of me, gave me food, and everything. They’ve always been there. They’re like my family.

How do you feel about people comparing you to Michael Jackson?

B. Howard: It takes a lot of pressure off, actually. I just like to give a good show and give the fans what they want, like him.

How did you take the news about Michael’s death?

B. Howard: It was pretty tough. At the time I was at Havenhurst (Katherine’s home), I had spent the night over at the house, and Katherine left early in the morning without saying anything. So, I was wondering where did they go. Alejandra (Jermaine Jackson’s ex-wife) had come out with me for one of my meetings, and then everyone started calling my phone saying Michael’s in the hospital, what’s going on? Now, I’m in the meeting looking at the phone, like there is always some type of rumor going on. So, I told Alejandra to check on this and surely he was on his way to the hospital. It was odd, my heart just went to my stomach. Very odd. On the way to the hospital Alejandra was crying her eyes out, and I was just trying to be strong. As a person, I was just trying to hold it together. But, when we got to the hospital that was it.

Dang how do you post video on here? I tried to use the embed code but it wouldn't show up.

wow, at first I thought Joe Jackson made another Michael.... but when I go on youtube it would seem people think that Michael and Micki had a thing going on in their early careers around the late 70s. I think B and the Jackson family are very very close and he really looks like a Jackson. Not only like Michael but he also looks like a young Janet (before nose job). REally, he does look like Janet.

Cherelle, Miki & Chaka were a clique back in the day. So you know there was some hell raising going on between the three.

As for the house burning, thats all I know. It was mentioned in the liner notes of her "Very Best Of" album and an article from Jet.

How or why did it occur, I have no idea. I know that afew of her friends from the industry chipped in to help financially after the fact.

Also, that song, Georgy Porgy Miki did-how long has that song been around?

The song is actually based on a nursery rhyme, that goes back centuries; Toto, just incorporated it into a song. Aside for versions by Toto and Micki, there's the version by Erice Benet and one done by a group called, "Charme", which featured, Luther.

I wasn't aware of the Charme version eek I love it.

But Toto/Cheryl Lyn's version is my fave.

I don't know about him actually being a Jackson unless Joe was playing house with Micki but I doubt it. Most likely this boy had parents who were both "emotionally unavailable" and the Jacksons basically adopted him to the point that he sounds and acts just like them, which is creepy as fuck. The Jacksons are cool and all but damn if I'm going to imitate their soft tone voice and shy sensitive I wanna cry demeanor, if I'm going to be influenced by one of them, let it be Tito with the bass in his voice and loves going fishing and guitars.

I'm incline to think he is another MJ. Not a jr but product of Joe. It just makes sense. Especially if Joe was her manager in her early career (she was young and needy and he was papa Joe holding all the cards).

yeah, I could believe that. Miki might have complied... after all, she was young and hungry for a shot. People have done more for less.

And is it possible that Joe would have done this? IMO, in a heart beat.

That boy appears to be related to the Jacksons. I don't believe he could ever ever be an offspring of Michael. Micki doesn't seemed to be MJ's type.

But, I could see her being Joe's type... young, nubile and pretty. Also, they say Joe was her manager during that critical time.

I really don't see why the possibility is that laughable.

I never for a second thought he was Michael's son but because of Joe's connection to Miki, he could be Joe's son. Although, now that I think of it I seriously doubt it. Katherine would not allow any of Joe's kids that aren't her's, in her house. This boy stated that when Michael died, he was at Hayvenhurst.

yeah, that was a puzzler for me as well. I wondered how big Katherine's heart was. Not sure the connection... but this boy gives me the Jackson vibe.

Interesting is the word that keeps popping up in my head as well. When I saw this child speaking on Unsung, I asked, who is his father? I don't know if I thought of the Jacksons instantly, but when he said he hated what they did to his mother, I thought of MJ. So, this thread is very interesting.
