I went to a live taping once. Met Marla Gibbs and John Matuszak who were 2 of the judges at the time. John Matuszak was quite an interesting fellow, lol.

we had just moved to las vegas in july '79. it was hotter than hell, and since i was far too young to gamble, it just made living there all that much more hellish.

my pleasant memories of that time, such as they are, involve sitting in front of the air conditioner going full blast, sipping welch's grape soda (why, yes, i am black, why do you ask?), and watching that damn dance fever. i don't remember what day it came on or anything, but i do remember that my mother, brother and i quickly got hooked on it. it passed the time is the most i can say about it.

remember the two chicks named 'motion'? lol

I grew up watching Dance Fever. Late 70s/early 80s cheese at its finest. lol For some reason, I remember Nipsy Russell being the show alot. That was the last show I was allowed to watch before bedtime. Kinda interest in it after Adrian Zmed started hosting it...

But does anyone remember "Puttin' On The Hits", the show where people lipsynched popular songs for cash and prizes? Strange concept, lol . Here's Goldie Fox & The Hollyrock Band lipsynching Sheila E.'s "Hollyrock".

Used to watch that show every week when I was a kid. I think it came on Saturday nights?

She married Glen Leonard from The Temptations. I found that out from a radio interview they did a few years ago.
