Christina Aguilera confirmed Tuesday that she and husband Jordan Bratman have split after five years of marriage.

"Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever,” the singer said in a prepared statement.

Aguilera, 29, and Bratman, 33, wed in California's Napa Valley in Novembert 2005. Their son was born in January 2008.

Im not shocked at all, i never could see them together from day one, i mean i know love is blind and all that nonsense, but i used to see pics of them together and she was all decked out looking fine and dude was in sneakers shirt all out, im tired of guys like that already getting hot women

I always forget she was even married! I dont' think the media pays too much attention to her personal life. She never had that sensationalism about her.

There is generally never one make-up artist who does all a celebrity's make-up. They're booked through artist agencies all over the world and there are usually a bunch of them switching from assignment to assignment. Usually a performer only keeps one make-up artist for long-term bookings when they're on tour, but otherwise there will be different people doing their faces from event to event.

I didn't say she couldn't sing. She's very talented. I do think she's annoyingly self-important though, and I'm gonna say that's what brought her marriage down in the end.

Her appearance on SNL a few years back told me everything I need to know about her.

Not necessarily. Janet Jackson employed Fran Cooper for years (until she recently retired), and Fran did everything from Janet's tours to her photo shoots and everything in between. She always travelled with her.

This hasn't been her year at all, as some others have said. She's just gonna have to take a chill pill, do some soul searching, and maybe she can bring that ego down a notch. And stop worrying about the media comparing her to other artists. Obviously all that shit took her down. Not to make any excuses but you know how it is.

Christina's vocals are excellent, IMO.

It's her ego AND image that has been the real problem in recent months.
