Did Rick James have a real jheri curl or was it a jheri curl wig ?

I know Rick James wore extensions when he wore his braids BUT when he wore his jheri curl , was that his real hair or a jheri curl wig ?

His "hair" always looked like wigs to me because when he put out his album, "The Flag," it was all short and tapered on the sides. Then, he put out "Wonderful" on Reprise Records and all that long "hair" was back again. Probably a wig though. biggrin
