What a tacky cover. Trailer trash has basically got her tits out again. How inappropriate for a Xmas/family album!!!

People have complained about her music in recent years. This record is full of 'gospelly' music. I listened to the snippets and she sounds amazing. Haters can kick rocks.

it's actually really good, if u like that kinda thing. I love "When Christmas Comes," "Here Comes Santa Clause," "Auld Lang Syne." there's quite a few standouts. her voice sounds way stronger than her last 2 albums. maybe quitting the booze helped or something. "Charlie Brown Christmas" is a super smart choice. it has the best 2 songs from the first xmas album, All I Want... and O Holy Night. the cover is appalling though. does she really expect anyone to believe that she is or ever was that skinny? i mean, i'm all for re-touching pics to flatter yourself. but that waistline is just preposterous.

^E=MC went platinum. And, she's been talking about doing another Christmas album since 05. And, her career wasn't ailing in 05.

That picture is such a fail. I don't even know where to begin. They say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover but she should have been more mindful of her s--t.

OKAY the album cover sucks, its the music that counts, and honestly i downloaded the full album, i can say there are a few songs like charlie brown christmas and little drummer boy that are great. Unfortunately it is not as good as her previous christmas album, NEITHER are her vocals upto par in comparison to the first christmas album. Some of her vocal arrangements are annoying, some of the songs are annoying. but overall this is a christmas album and its decent enough to play at a christmas party, But not decent enough to listen to all year around. if david lachappell really took these pictures of mariah, i can see why he went into retirement, these are not very flattering pics of mariah's face.

Damn, what's the big deal about the cover? It looks perfectly normal to me.

I'm not understanding the hate.

Marc Shaiman really brought it with his stellar, lush orchestration on this record, as did Mairah with her fantastic vocals. I couldn't have been more satisfied.

also seeing the DVD footage of them making the record made me appreciate it even more. the chemistry between her, Marc, Poyser & Randy was amazing love

UMM, I know what year it is. Point being this was in the works before she was flopping. Get over it you're wrong. You can assure me whose new music is playing in someone's IPOD?

Photoshop fakery all round.

You can plainly see her shoulders are broad as hell compared to that body, all they've done is plonked her shouders and head onto someone elses body.

In reality she's a whale that can barely sing live anymore, but i bet that album makes her sound great.

She's pregnant and you can only do so much with autotune. If it worked miracles like that Britney and Rhianna would sound much better on record as well

She was fat before she was pregnant. She's just a loathsome individual, a horrible vain personality. Vile.

Which DVD footage? popcorn

BTW, did she & Walter Afanasieff reunite? eek I noticed his name on the credits of "O Holy Night" in Wikipedia's page.

The set looks classy(minus Dupri's songs, I can't figure out for the life of me how she still keeps working with him). Seeing the two Jameses(Poyser & Wright), I knew they would push her to deliver,,,,,,she has always maintained a good working relationship with Randy, but Poyser added an organic element to her voice and as you know, her chemistry with Wright is uncanny.

Looking forward for her work with Shaiman music

there's an edition of the new album that comes with a DVD, and the footage is so entertaining to say the least.

it all takes place in the studio with the whole ensemble present, her mother included. there are parts where they were still coming up with ideas, so you get lots of beautiful riffs here & there. and others with Shaiman working his magic with the band (with MC co-conducting on the side lol)

it's entertaining all the way through, and there's literally not a scene that goes without something hilarious going on, she'd just keep on saying the most random stuff ever, like James Poysner, to which he gave her the side eye over, so she had to quickly add how it's just wrong to just add letters to people's names like that lol

and I absolutely loved how Shaiman described her voice at some point: "If music took on a human form, that would be her". he was crazy in love with her.

watching all that stuff totally made me enjoy this project all the way more.

oh and as for Walter, he's only being credited because they're using the same live version of Holy Night that was recorded back in 2000 (with the video in Church).
