L.A. Lakers' Shannon Brown popped the question to girlfriend Monica and she couldn't be happier.

According to Twitter, the two are engaged to be married! Monica tweeted a picture of her new bling Sunday, as well as showed off her excitement:

"To know my journey has just begun. I don't have anythign else to say about it.2 people who judge, if u worked on self u wouldn't even see me"

"And that is what keeps us strong. So for all my real supporteers who are happy for me. I thank u, I love u, & I'm realistic enough about life"

"We realize people will have their opinions. That's the way of the world.But we know who we are&who's we are.We pray 2 an awesome God 2gether"

Shannon and Monica started dating after he appeared in the music video for her song "Love All Over Me" in June.

The R&B singer has two children with producer/rapper Rocker, with whom she ended a relationship in March.

been just a year and a half I think. they were building a house in ATL just last year.

fuck that buyer beware shit....Monica is good peeps...just enough hood to keep a brotha in line and she's all about the love!

She just makes bad choices in mates because her heart is too big. Plus she's always choosing these thug types so maybe now that she's a mother, her standards have been upgraded and she will choose a guy that has his own kids and future to worry about so he won't do anything stupid or unsafe with regard to their union.

I could be wrong. Shannon could be another scrub with pocket change.

She's had a yen for the thug type thus far. Maybe Shannon is the best thing yet to come along.

That's what I thought...like didn't they just break up? And now all of a sudden she's engaged like within what 4 months!!!!

And I'm sorry, showing off engagement rings on twitter and facebook is just tacky to me. I know some people have posted their whole wedding album on facebook. Ridiculous.

I don't know why celebrities use Twitter etc. to share information about their personal life with thousands of strangers. These people are not friends, they don't know or care about "you" but your product. Put your product out there but don't give yourself and your business away like that. More likely to keep the drama away.

She is a very strong woman who has been through a lot of shit. But getting engaged after just getting out of a relationship six months ago? To each his own, hope it works out. She looks cute in that pic.
