CLASSY LADY. Very engaging, sweet woman and unlike a lot of people that go and on about God, I truly believe that she is sincere. But I thought her ep was weak. Not a good one at all.

And "My First Love" is a song for GROWN ASS PEOPLE. Janet could not have done it justice.

What I want to know is, why was Mikki Howard blacklisted?

Ah yeah his first and only solo album that went aluminum. I remember he did a video for one of the songs, it was embarrassing.

So y'all saying he got the career he deserved? ROFLOL!! Glad to hear it! Album went aluminum? That's hilarious!!

Yeah because he was trying to brag that he wrote all of their shit (Rene & Angela) but I don't think he was capable of writing a decent song by himself now Ms. Winbush on the other hand always had quality songs so we know who was really the musical brains behind the duo. Sure wasn't Mr. Moore. lol

I remember he opened for Mint Condition in 2005 in Charlotte at a small venue and the review for

him was that he performed like he was old. lol

I didn't go because i saw Mint a few months earlier in Atlanta but it would have been interesting

to see him without Angela. I briefly remember hearing one of his songs on the Music Choice

channel though. I recorded the Unsung at noon but i've yet to see it because i had to

get some sleep.

Yeah, he road the coat tails of his brother Bobby Watson and Angela. I find it interesting that his brother Bobby was a "producer" along with R & A on all four albums and Janet Jackson first album for A&M. Bobby was connected to Quincy Jones and Bruce Swedien. Bobby played on Off The Wall and Thriller, also Q produced Masterjam for Rufus. Most of players on MJ's album's played on R & A albums and Janet's - "Say You Do", "Young Love". hmmm

Nahh, I can't hear Janet going anywhere near this song. It's just not her thang.

even at that early stage, janet's whispery voice would have destroyed that song and it would have just been an album filler.

I didn't say that it would have been a hit for her, I just think it's a beautiful song and wonder why she passed on it... shit the writers of the song offered it to her so they must have thought she could handle the track..

Janet didn't wanna do it lol

She actually did 'em a favor because they were struggling as recording artists at the time.

I thought he was DEAD!

Nah he's still alive. But I bet people don't know shit about him. The last he did that was significant was contribute to Michael's "Dangerous" and "HIStory" albums.

Well that should have set him for the rest of his life plus the 50/50 he got from the lawsuit against Angela & Ron Isley. He don't ever have to say a word.

Only thing I didn't like about the show was how Angela downplayed her real relationship with Rene. They were lovers. No man beats a woman like that over just more exposure. It was common knowledge that they were a couple & Ron Isley took her from him. But the over all show was excellent. She is a fighter and a very talented underated talent.

By the way I can see Janet singing "My First Love" but Janet didn't take her singing career seriously until "Control" she was only 14 years old when she signed with A&M records.

Trying to figure out any rational reason why any man beats a woman is, silly. "There had to be some reason . . . more to the story" ? He could and did. Even so, Rene's hang ups weren't Ms. Winbush problem either. The only thing anyone woman can do is leave. . . remove herself from the man and his violence.

I thought they were lovers too and that she was hiding something. But then I read an article where she said "most business partners will kill another business parter over money." She said Rene threatened and beat her over money because Angela was no longer going to share publishing credit for the songs she wrote by herself anymore. She would write or produce most of the material they did and split the credit with Rene because being a female nobody trusted her to produce and write most of the material on her own. So she had to use a man to get her stuff out there... She said thats why there was "Rene and Angela" instead of Angela Winbush. So this whole money stuff seems believable. After all emotions run high with money.

Now I believe there is two sides to every story, so its suspicious that Rene declined to tell his side of the story. And if they were in fact lovers, I do believe their relationship had to be over by the time Ron Isley came in the picture.

I was thinking the same thing. How was he beating her like that and they weren't even a couple??? That sounded so strange to me.

hmmm Here's some food for thought. Bobby Watson, producer for Rene and Angela and bassist for Rufus feat. Chaka Khan, is Rene's brother. eek

In this episode, Bobby said, "i never saw him hit anybody." Rene declined to be interviewed for this segment, but they failed to mention that he and Bobby were brothers.

Was this left out intentionally?? hmmm What is Bobby hiding?

[Edited 10/26/10 8:40am]

He might've still been scarred after watchin Andre Fischer beatin up on Chaka all those years in Rufus. You know the whole mums the word on what REALLY happened....

It feels like Bobby knows what really happened but won't say in defense of his brother, and I wonder if it could've been from watchin how his bandmate Andre Fischer treated Chaka. He may have wanted a 1000 times 2 say somethin anything but he may stayed out of it for the sake of the band. It's like knowin an uglier side of someone that no one else does but you won't say 'cause you're too close to it....
