These days, Alicia Keys is in a motherhood state of mind.

The singer and her husband, Swizz "Kaseem Dean" Beatz, "joyfully welcomed their first child, a son Egypt Daoud Dean on Oct. 14 in New York City," reps for the couple confirmed in a statement.

This is the couple's first child, though Egypt "is welcomed by Beatz's three other children," the statement added.

Keys, 29, and Beatz, 32, are not only new parents together – they are also newlyweds. The singer and the rapper-producer got married in a private ceremony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in July. At the time, the two didn't know the gender of their child, but Swizz Beatz said they were excited to start a family together.

"Whatever we're blessed with, that baby is being born to blessed parents," he said at the time. "Alicia is definitely one of those great parents-to-be. She's super ready. Super glowing. Super happy."

On Thursday night, he seemed to be in a reflective mood, Tweeting, "I'm so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life."

Glad the baby is healthy, but other than that, I am gonna keep my mouth shut. Some things shouldn't be said.

It was said Prince was surprised to see Alicia at his Press Conference in NYC. I guess shortly there after she went into labor. Congrats. Alicia and Swiss. Almost 2 days from the day little Gregory was born to the proud parents Prince and Mayte....r.i.p Gregory you will forever be with us.

For some reason, I have trouble being happy about the situation. However, babies are awesome!

Congrats...I suppose. Not to ruin the moment, but watch this guy leave her for another woman and then get that woman pregnant.

That kid's gonna be so light-skinned, he's gonna be clear!
