I recently downloaded most of their albums

and to be frank, I was bored out of my fucking mind

I skimmed & skimmed & never struck gold

that It's Only Rock N Roll album

has one song that I wouldn't mind hearing again

I have never been so disappointed in my life sad

I have like 4-5 Rolling Stones t-shirts

because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

I don't mean this as a slight to the Rolling Stones, but I think the best tracks on their albums are often the singles (personally - not stating facts here). And the best 15-20 of those are probably their best 15-20 songs (an 80 minute CDs worth). I've also tried and failed to get into their albums (more than once). Would never wear a RS t-shirt, though, even if I really liked them. lol

The Stones have released a lot of filler songs after 1973, that's true...but their 67-73 work is solid, any average Joe would tell you that, by solid I MEAN 5 STARS PURE GOLD LPs, they are so hyped for a reason, it's like Prince 1980-1987 or Stevie 1971-1976, solid years, solid work, solid albums...

and to DirtyChris: to each his own but wtf wth man neutral

I definitely have VERY little knowledge of those early RS albums. My favorites are tracks like Miss You, Waiting On A Friend, Start Me Up, Angie. The drugged out late 70's and 80's. lol I do have a soft spot for Wild Horses, Paint It Black and Sympathy For The Devil in particular, though. Not sure how many other Stones songs I could name without looking them up.

I tried.. I will listen to Exile on Main Street & Let It Bleed once more

to make sure I give it a good go...

but I was not impressed, I think I had a taste

for something else at that time

which was Thin Lizzy & Aerosmith

Emotional Rescue, She's So Cold, One Hit (To The Body) nod thumbs up! Mixed Emotions is a great song that I've always really disliked for some reason. I recognize that it's a stellar track for a band that had been around as long as they had at the time. I just never liked it.

my favorites from this period are Undercover of the Night, One Hit to the Body and She Was Hot. But I like pretty much all the singles from this period. The albums weren't very deep by and large though. Some definite filler.
