Is that the guy from the late 1980's that sounded like a woman singer, and had a song called Notice Me?

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Grrrrreeeeeat list,,,esp Candi & Shuggie drool

Shuggie could've easily went head & head against Marvin, Stevie & Sly, but it didn't seem like he had the stomach to peruse a musical career in the forefront.

Little Willie John. He's in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - but is almost unknown. And his personal story is amazing - and tragic.

I found the video. I have this song on a 45 somewhere, but had never seen the video before today. I only seen a picture of him once at the time the song was originally out. That's how I found out he was a guy. I thought it was a girl singer and the name "Nikki" didn't help, lol. I forgot about the song and haven't listened to it since the 1990's.

Looks like he has another video. Never heard of it, but the music sounds like Dino, Rythm Syndicate, Robbie Nevil, and other acts of the period.

OMG, I love me some Nikki!! Only discovered him this summer and downloaded his only album that came out in 1989 and I love it. I would love it if they had an unsung episode on him. He is the bomb!!
