Guess there's no chance of reconciliation then: Christina Aguilera files for divorce then takes son for fun day out

Christina Aguilera put the final nail in the coffin of her five marriage to Jordan Bratman this morning as she filed for divorce.
The 29-year-old singer listed the good old California standard 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason.
The news broke yesterday that Aguilera and 33-year-old music executive Bratman had separated.

It was revealed that the couple had been living apart for several months, but in a statement released by the Grammy winner she insisted that the couple had yet to make a decision about their future together.
Well, it seems she's made up her mind now...
Aguilera told People magazine: 'Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever.'
Meanwhile, Aguilera is beginning the process of rebuilding her life as a single woman and single mother to her two-and-a-half year old son.

She took Max for a fun day out at Mr Bones Pumpkin Patch today in Beverly Hills.
Aguilera was dressed casually in black sweatpants, grey T-shirt, black and grey cardigan, flip flops and a black fedora style straw hat pulled down low.
She appeared to be in great spirits and was sure to shower little Max with lots of affection.

Aguilera planted a huge kiss on her son's cheek as she carried him out of her limo as they headed to the pumpkin patch.
Once there mum and son had plenty of fun and cuddle time as they played together on a big blue slide.
At one point the proud parent was seen crouching down behind a hay bale to snap some candid shots of her cute son.
The two couldn't keep the smiles off of their faces and were obviously enjoying their day out together immensely.

Aguilera did seem to take one thing very seriously though.
When it came to picking out the perfect pumpkin she appeared to be deep in thought, taking her time as she weighed up and felt out her different options.
Earlier in the day Aguilera was seen carry Max out of her limo in Santa Monica.
Once again the singer turned actress appeared to not have a care in the world as she waved to photographers and cuddled up to her son.

News of the break-up - which apparently took place during the summer - was first reported by Us Weekly on Tuesday.
'They have been separated for a few months,' a source close to Aguilera told the magazine.
The source went on to say that the pair 'are now living apart and they will see how that goes,' but that they have not yet decided on whether they will divorce.

According to the divorce docs, which Aguilera's legal team filed early this morning, there is a prenup in place.
The divorce petition asks that 'Earnings and accumulations of [Aguilera] before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation' be considered separate property.
Aguilera, who is represented by legal eagle Laura Wasser, lists the date of separation as September 11, 2010.
The petition also seeks to terminate Bratman’s ability to get spousal support and requests joint physical and legal custody of their son.

Aguilera could be in the line of fire for some pretty damning press in the near future.
U.S. website TMZ reports that the marriage ended after Bratman discovered his wife was cheating on him.
This isn't the first time Aguilera has had to weather allegations of cheating.
In 1997 Atlanta based producer Dallas Austin claimed Aguilera cheated on him when they were dating with both his best friend, JoBar and his then-assistant, Bratman, who she obviously subsequently went on to marry.

Aguilera and Bratman met in 2002 when he was working at Azoff Music Management, which is Aguilera's management company.
Her manager Irving Azoff introduced the two to one another.
People magazine reported on Bratman's romantic proposal to Aguilera: 'On February 11, 2005, the couple were in a Carmel, California hotel room filled with rose petals, balloons, and gift boxes.

Each box had a poem written by Jordan. When Christina opened the last box which had a ring in it, Jordan got down on one knee and said, "Will you do me the honour of being my wife?"'
Aguilera and Bratman had a sunset wedding in a tent near a forest on November 19, 2005 at Staglin Family Vineyard in northern California's Napa Valley.
The ceremony with about 130 guests was described as being lavish.
The wedding dress that Aguilera wore was designed by Christian Lacroix. She wore her hair pulled back in a bun and decorated in jewels and white flowers. The couple's wedding bands were designed by Stephen Webster of London.
