Prince is the most versatile, as in he's capable of playing different genres very convincingly.
Slash plays with the most depth.
Buckethead is the fastest and most technically gifted. His whole approach to guitar playing sort of reminds me of an athlete training for the Olympics.
I rate all three quite highly, but I would say Slash is the best of the three overall. Slash is up there with my all time favourite guitarists, alongside Tony Iommi, Mr Hendrix and Zakk Wylde

Better always means More Listenable to me. So Prince is better.

I'm not a certifiable Prince fanatic (anymore), but I could listen to him all day long. He OWNS that guitar and he plays with such soul and conviction. He plays things nobody else plays. Maybe I still am a fanatic...
I can handle Slash for as long as Appetite goes on. He's great I guess, but kind of a one trick hard rock blues pony. And once GNR got rich I couldn't stand them anyway.
I don't give a shit about Buckethead, because he's got this stupid gimmick where he wears a bucket on his head. If he was worth my time, he wouldn't need to hide inside the Colonel.

Anybody who doesn't rate Buckethead should watch this:

Buckethead clearly shreds better than the other two.
Prince is versatile--I have not heard the other two play funky rhythm guitar. Prince is a great musician, just not one of my favorite guitar players, especially his lead playing.
I would probably rate Slash as my favorite of the three. He has made a career of playing guitar in a way in which his solos are an integral part of the song. This is closer to what Prince does, too, but in my mind Slash plays melody and with feel just a bit better than Prince, and his tone & style are more clearly defined. Listening to Buckethead shred Chinese Democracy makes me wonder what it would have sounded like with Izzy & Slash instead. My Legacy
