Stevie Wonder - Overjoyed (1983 performance SNL)

I found this on YT. I guess Stevie did it on SNL when he was hosting and performing with Eddie Murphy. It wasn't released for another 2 years.

I remember this episode and performance vividly, it's one of the funniest episodes from that Eddie Murphy era of SNL. One of the reasons why he was picked as a guest to host SNL was because they (NBC) were promoting Motown 25 which aired that next week.

I also remember the applause after he performed the song, it lasted damn near 2 minutes, probably more.

I've got the video to both this and his performance of "Go Home". Very nice stuff.

Was this the same SNL appearance where mocked the British rock critics by saying in an accent I hate R&B - its just a noise!? lol

I would loooooooove to hear the original recording of the some from 74, can you imagine what it would be like? drool Somebody needs to tell good ol' Stevie to stop playing and open the vault.

This song will always be special to me it was to be included on Journey...But he kept it.

It will be special cause when I turned one my dad sang a version for me with changed up lyrics to fit my birthday.
