Did Teddy even meet Michael in 1987? lol I'm sure it was gonna go for either Johnny or Bobby. lol

I think so.

There was a discussion here about the song being offered to/written in mind with MJ,,,,,both factors were mentioned.

Always hated this song. Still do. When N'SYNC remade it, it fortified my hate.

Might as well.

MJ said that fantasy intrigued him, not reality razz

I just don't think I believe Teddy in that regard. lol Michael probably didn't dig the lyrics anyway. lol

falloff EXACTLY!!!!

There is just NO WAY IN THE FUCK...Michael could have pulled...this song off!!! Just because of who he was...AND who WE perceived him to be...in OUR own minds...that song would have had all kinds of different connotations and implementations.

He'd have more than likely laughed in Teddy's face, if he really brought that song to him, thinking he'd do it!

But I could believe that after Michael stopped laughing at that, he saw something in Teddy's work and encouraged him, leading eventually to working with him! cool

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Oh Lord, I have always hated this song from day one. It's got pop written all over it.

For a brief moment, during the peak of this songs' popularity, I was fairly certain that Johnny Kemp was going to be the next PRINCE, lol. I suppose "real life" personal issues got in the way of my fantasy for Johnny.

Johnny fell off quick. I know he recently was seen performing the song on Keith Sweat's DVD.

During that era, I was listening to stuff like "Fishnet" by Morris Day, "Earth To Mickey" by Chaka Khan, "Freak-A-Holic" by Egyptian Lover, "Give It All You Got" by Afro-Rican, etc. I remember hating stuff like Johnny Kemp, Calloway, and especially that damn "I Want Her" by Keath Sweat. They were fast songs but they just weren't "hard" enough for me. lol

LOL yeah, but if you read what I wrote, I wasn't mentioning them in a good way. They made me hate the song more than I already did (and do).

Hmmm...interesting. Obviously it IS MJ influenced but... idk. shrug lol

Johnny did some fancy moves in the video though.

From what I understand, not only was it co-written by Keith Sweat, but Teddy had Keith in mind, first for the song.

SEE! I knew someone else was considered for the song. Not to mention Keith was one of Teddy's first artists that he ever produce when it came to R&B (remember he had just done hip-hop prior to working with Keith).

There is a clip on Youtube, of Keith singing it. I think he even mentions that he co-wrote it or that it was meant for him.
