I'm not crazy about her singing, big ingredient of that song was the trippy-like singing, and I don't think she captured it.

That being said, the orchestra kicked ass,,,,I loved how they segued "Africa(The Asphalt Jungle)" along with "Thank You Felattinme Be Mice Elf Agin".

Prince went all the in to the stomach when he covered it and segued it with "Play that funk music white boy" drool headbang

I see what everybody means by this vocal not working.

It got me to wondering... seeing as they are choosing a female vocalist, who do y'all think would work?

I did like the background vocals although I couldn't see anyone on stage singing them live.

I can't seem to get past the idea (that for some reason I can't begin to explain, even to myself) that this song only works with a male vocalist.

Hmmmmm... mysterious.

YMO was great though.

Gladys Knight & The Pips did a decent cover,,,,but she still missed that ingredient; the trippy-ness.

I could def hear Tina Turner murking it to death, with the right band and the right setting.

It's very likely that English isn't her first language, so I can cut her a little slack. YMO rules, though. nod
