Ne-Yo Angered By Music Leaks Somebody has been stealing Ne-Yo’s music and he is not happy about it. The singer/songwriter, who will be releasing his ‘Libra Scale’ album on November 22nd after 3 delays, took to Twitter to vent his frustrations regarding hackers leaking more than half of his new LP. Check out what he had to say below:

Hey Ne-Yo, you're first sentence should read "all hackers die slowly."

NeYo's music since his first cd has sucked! I still listen to that cd, but dude is overrated.

I would agree with him however I don't like any of the singles from this forthcoming album it's all a bit too much for me.

Im actually angered too by NE-YO's music leaks, everytime they leak, im reminded that he still is recording. "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Do understand where he is coming from. Artist like him work very hard to create there music. Only to be slapped in the face when someone hacks it for free..That is why Prince tries so hard to control his music by creating different ways to distribute it..... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

His is aware that a majority of music leaks come from tracks, or traces of them, being left on studio hard drives these days, right? And that this means it's possible the very engineers he worked with leaked them, right? Or that a lot of other leaks come from in-house promos, which means again that the people he works with leaked them... right? Or, um, maybe he hasn't considered the possibility that someone at a pressing plant leaked them. In short, what the hell is he talking about "hackers" for? Dude sounds a bit touched there. I mean, what, is he walking around with the songs on some sort of wireless device where they can be found and stolen? If so, his bad.

It's always one thing or another: 1.) Record labels 2.) His own people 3.) Leaving tracks behind for someone to get easy access to leaking them in the process
Seriously when can artists learn how to PROTECT their shit... the shit they ain't got real control of to begin with?

It was probally R.Kelly that secretly done that. R.kelly really dislike the poor kid

Didn't this happen with his last release too? I remember every time I've visited music blogs then, they were all stacked with his stuff it was sickening!
I wonder if he's behind it though because it just doesn't make sense that such excessive leaks only happen from certain singers like him and Dream.
Which also reminds me, how come there are some well known blogs that seem to have the green light from lables to put their albums for free for a limited time? "what's that book where they're all behind the wardrobe?"

Exactly timmy, they all leave their shit around and 90% allow the leaks themselves, put out underground mixtapes etc...its a whole other market for the artists and now the shit is biting them in the ass so guess who they blame...the labels, the number one scapegoat for every complaint, if thats the case NE-YO should quit his label, and go 100% indie and sell his stuff on his website...think hes got the balls to do that??? NO because once the labels are gone from his career, and their money to make videos and promote, this cat will fall through the cracks "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Why is he crying again ? His things is going to be on the TOP 10 anyway ... and Im sure he already got paid for this album. I've listened to a couple of the songs, some of them are okay but he tries to hard to be MJ ... he needs to find his own style because i don't see why i would listen to the copy when I can listen to the original.

hackers?
wtf is he talking about... "hackers"
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
That's what I'm sayin'! All I can think of is that they were grabbed off a laptop or other portable device via a wireless network. I guess somebody could have hacked a studio hard drive if said studio is dumb enough to keep it on a network. Still, "hackers"?

U know nothing about the industry. Its very hard & expensive to distribute music on your own. Labels provide a build in machine. Even though he does have the notoriety to do it. It would take a lot of effort & time. He still would have to deal with hackers which will be even worse. The best thing he would pocket the majority of the profit. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! I think the right term was supposed to be "the street team". Someone in his camp have to have leak it. Seriously he should lock his shit up or change it up and make people think the songs people stole were "not finished". lol
I just went to his Twitter, he thanked his fans for sticking up for him lol

That's eerie! Everytime I hear a song by Ne-Yo I have to take a leak! When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Sorry dude i have worked in and around the industry for over 20 years, u didnt even have the sense to read the short ass post i did. IF YOU READ it, it says that if Ne-Yo is so concerned with this issue and thinks labels are at fault then do it without them, and as i pointed out further in the post, he wont do that because labels are bankrolling him and he wouldnt want to have to start footing the bills himself. As for the costs of doing it yourself as opposed to not doing it yourself, it depends on who you are, and WHAT GENRE you are in, and sorry to say but Ne-Yo's genre is where most of the downloading/mixtapes/bootlegging is coming from, which is why you will not see him go indie because he would make even less. Now someone like Radiohead, who have fans and a good % who do download but also want the artist to make the money, Radiohead has tapped into that monster. Ne-Yo's fan base could give a rats ass about who gets paid , and want his shit for free.
