I heard the first week sales was 54,000, but I haven't heard another figure.

As of last week: 80 BRAXTON*TONI PULSE 803 -14 930 132,106

That's not bad to me. If they released another decent single in the next few weeks, she could sell a few more for the Holiday season.

Promote it further than she did?

Ya know?

If we're gonna judge it by this logic, then 1/4 of this world's population would be bankrupt due to disability. Thats a cop out argument. She should cut her own child some slack and start investing for his/her future, how old is she anyway? 42?

Rock steady baby,,,,lets call this dumb shit exactly what it is; a reckless dumb shit.

You guys need to calm down. You act like she owes you money(LOL)

Toni maybe irresponsible with her funds or she could be suffering from a combonation of things.

The music industry ( in which singers who do not write anything make nothing on royalties and must get out and perform)

A husband who sat on his ass the entire time they were married.

A zillion health issues that prevented her from working ( which goes back to a singer needing to work to get the money rolling in)

Combine it with lawsuits, an autistic child, and not even putting a CD out for five years and you have a receipe for disaster.

I don't think he did. I think he thought he hit the jackpot.

He better call Terry and ask for a few hundred thousand to get through this hump.

It sure didn't get past Lead. lol

It is a shame really because in the 1990s she had the potential to carry on as the next Big Thing.

I remembered listening to her on the Tom Joyner morning show almost a year ago(?) and she came across as very diva-esque, so the extravagent expenses do not seem far fetched. I just hope she can right the ship financially and still get her career off of life support because its not looking good with album sales that rival William Hung's.

I don't wanna pass a judgement on her saying "She shoulda been wise with her money" or "Didn't she learn a lesson?" I get paid on a regular basis, so what do I know about getting paid on an irregular basis like celebs do? If it's actually the case where she lived beyond her means and spent her money frivolously, then I would have something to say then, but still not much other than "It's a shame..."

The mere fact that she DOES not get paid regularly, is all the more reason for her to be careful in how she spends her money. I used to work on a commission only basis, so I had to watch how I spent money. I also had to work extra hard in making it. It's not about "passing judgement", the right thing is the right thing. The Temptations, weren't "Too Proud To Beg", she should not be too proud to asked for help, in handling her finances.

Identity

I learned the hard way that managing money is a process that required discipline and focus.

One doesn't just wake up $50M in the red. She had to have had ample forewarning from her manager (or accountant) that huge amounts of debt was looming.

Let's not make a bunch of excuses for her. She's been in the business a long time, she should know a thing or two about financial responsibility.Like many other celebrities, she is living beyond her means...spending money recklessly instead of scaling back and living on a budget.

Promote it further than she did?

I think Atlantic is behind the screw up with that. They did such heavy promotion LONG before the album dropped. They had her on every morning show, afternoon show and at every urban station in every major market. They played the 3 "singles" from the album, but the music just never appealed to the masses.

And that's mainly the problem. They didn't care once the album came out.

I think that the main problem is that people just stopped caring about her music.

I have no sympathy for someone like that. People wanna say that she has had issues with health and that her husband should have stepped in and so forth. Truth be told, YOU are in charge of YOU. If you have been through it once, why in the HELL, would you go back there again. People just don't learn....

Exactly. There can be no more excuses.Toni's gonna have to learn how to manage/budget her money. She'll have to cut expenses, scale back and learn how to live on a budget.

I here you Shortt. I don't feel much sympathy for her either. I think more about her kids

well being than hers. She needs to look in the mirror and put the blame on herself.
