...and I love it!!! A great effort that should be released in its entirety soon! If Sony can license three tracks to be released on the Chic box set, why can't they just release the entre album already? Just get it over with! Just like the white winged dove...

Johnny Mathis with Chic? That's a strange combination. Kinda like Barry Mannilow with Van Halen. Andy is a four letter word.

It was a unique pairing,to be sure. Here's how it happened. In 1980,Niles and Bernard produced Diana Ross and gave her the biggest hit album of her career. The idea was that, they could do the same with Johnny Mathis and possibly make him sound 'hip'.Scheduled to be released in 1981,the album was cancelled by Johhny's label and has remained unreleased all these years.I've never been a huge fan of Johnny Mathis, but I love Chic so I am kinda curious about this project.

Here's Johnny doing some disco. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
