Doll, he had the fan blowing that Lion King wig, giving much face, and doing the Miss Jackson side to side dream street sway. I see you, Madame Tonex
People are getting upset over this though,,,,,his gospel fans are screaming foul.

They need to understand he was always like this. If they can't get pass that, then they shouldn't call themselves "fans". [Edited 10/5/10 1:06am]

I think people are well aware beforehand about the nature of anybody's sexual orientation,,,,just as long as one don't shout it out
Kinda like, ignore tea sipping pink Dumbo thats taking the room's space.

Like I said if they don't like him flaunting it, then get out of the kitchen. It's like this is who he is, you know? lol

Yo, I came in here just because you made it and I come across this comment
"We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

He up here yelling to the heavens huntie. His gospel fans should have already known this like someone just posted....because I remember he did a VERY strange interview for bet that premired one morning...in glasses and a wig acting very ..secretive and defending his sexuality...he seemed to not be into it...and out of it for that matter. But I'm happy to see he is doing what he wants now. Release yourself! "Your dress is stolen trick!!" Yes the extended version is the SHIT Straight Jacket Funk Affair

I'm seriously considering buying something from him for the 1st time. I've always been familiar with him, but color me interested this time, not because he's not singing gospel(which ain't right up my alley anyway) but after taking afew moments listening to his stuff, in comparison, he sounded more uninhibited singing that song.
The extended version sounds like it would be a MADHOUSE

Ok, I just came across to this.
I like him, he seem self assured about he chooses to portray his image and music and I like the fact that he wants to broaden it up as opposed to limit himself, as people expect him to be doing.
Sheila E. looks like she was raising hell

wow! sad. he was in full bitch mode in that clip. he was the most creative artist in gospel, great string of albums. most gospel fans stopped checking for him after the Lexi interview or upon seeing the last album cover with the blue contacts on

All I could think was, damn, black hair care has come a long way since the days of Jermaine Stewart.
...that is all. Space for sale...

Wasn't this dude on youtube a few years ago talking shit about gays? And don't some of his lyrics talk down on lesbianism (the example I am thinking of)? And now he's a big ole proud queen?? He seems kinda insane to me. His voice is great though... "Keep in mind that I'm an artist...and I'm sensitive about my shit."--E. Badu

Hmm really? I don't recall such a video. If so, maybe he knew what he was saying was pure bullshit then.

I don't know about that but he did make a ridiculous video talking about being a real n-----. It was foolish mumbo jumbo. This dude lost me after his live cd Out of the Box. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

I assume this is for an upcoming Sylvester biopic (???) If so, I'd be interested to hear Tonex talk about why he's involved in this project.
The gay thing isn't much of an issue, I think. Whether we agree with him or not, he's long since come out as... well... at least not hetero. And I think he's done a decent job at articulating how affirming his sexuality isn't sinful in his mind, but actually a faithful, even ministerial, response to how he truly believes God made him.
But that aside, the disco "lifestyle" was sooo tainted by mere pleasure for pleasure's sake... to the point of self destruction -- the very stuff I assume Tonex has wanted to demonstrate being gay isn't. I'd just like to hear how he believes this fits into his vocational work, because I think he still identifies as a minister of sorts. [Edited 10/5/10 10:40am] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Also, I think Nelson Ellis would make a better Sylvester -- lip synching to Cee Lo. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

x a billion
my favorite moment though is at 1:47 when he removes that intruding hair off of his face with such an attitude "what's that book where they're all behind the wardrobe?"

The video was humorous though. He probably asked Diana Ross for that wind machine.
