From my understanding, he doesn't make any money from the reissues of Thriller. He got paid for his production services and that was it.

Let us not forget that his company did The Fresh Prince, so he has probably made a mint off of that.

I see. It makes sense then.

Yeah I know that about the Fresh Prince lol

I've read that is how Q ended up producing the "Bad" project. I've heard that Q went to MJ after Thriller blew up and asked for more money. MJ said no and then told him he would make it up with the next album.

I don't know what you said but whatever it is I'll probably agree. He's been losing it for a minute now.. then I saw some comments he made post 6/25/09 and just KNEW he took a swan dive off the deep end. Now with this Secret Garden remake and other such fuckery that fact has been confirmed.

He says that, while recording 'Thriller',he removed four of the weakest tracks and replaced them with "Beat It","Human Nature","P.Y.T" and "Lady In My Life".Funny,he doesn't mention that he didn't like "Billie Jean" and didn't want it to be on the album hmmm disbelief Michael had to insist that it be included and it became his signature song.

and don't you find it a little ... curious, coincidental ... that they just happen to be the most recognizable songs after 'billie jean'? confused also, why were the 'weak' songs chosen in the first place? how could you overlook those four songs in favor of weak ones? didn't you notice that they were weak in comparison? there is something off about that statement. were they really weak, or did the other songs just fit better together on the album? is he trying to give himself more credit than is merited, especially if he could listen to "billie jean" and think it WASN'T good enough to be on the album? i mean, really! from the first moment i heard that song, i knew it was great.

Exactly.Plus,he seems to be implying that he was the one who chose the songs to be on the album.I'm sure that,in the end,Michael had the final say-so.

I agreed with you guys as early as back in 2003, but when someone would post

that on like Prince.org in like 2005, like I did, the hate was CRAZY.

I recall one response was, "WITHOUT Q, MJ IS NOTHING."

Of course it was followed by..."...Prince is better because he doesn't need Q as

badly as Michael needs him." Yeah. I'll leave it at that.

No I won't. What a stupid remark!

Maybe, I should avoid reading about Q. The more I read about him, the more I lose my respect for him.

He did some pretty great things but alas, I still think it was Michael Jackson who made Quincy Jones and not the other way around. Last time I checked the reason why Thriller hit off big was because of Michael's innovative music videos and what really triggered it was his unforgettable performance on Motown 25.

If Quincy had any dignity,he would stop working with rappers and do a straight-ahead jazz album...you know,an album that would actually appeal to people his own age! rolleyes We don't need any pointless remakes of his classic songs. He bends over backwards to prove that he's "down" with hip-hop but it just makes him look silly and desperate.
