Mute will release Depeche Mode’s Tour of the Universe – Live In Barcelona DVD and Blu-ray, November 9.

The set contains 21 tracks recorded during the course of two sold-out nights at Palau St. Jordi in Barcelona, Spain, November 20 and 21, 2009.

The collection includes four bonus tracks, a tour documentary – Inside The Universe – two tracks filmed at tour rehearsals in New York City, and Anton Corbjin’s specially-created screen films for seven tracks, as well as bonus montages created from on-stage screens.

The collection comes in three formats:

Super deluxe four-disc version (two DVD, two CD)

DVD 1 (a 21-track live performance plus four bonus tracks)
DVD 2 (extra bonus content including documentary and promo videos)
CDs 1 and 2 (audio of the 21 tracks from DVD 1)

Deluxe one-DVD, two-CD version

DVD 1 and the two audio CDs

Blu-ray (two Blu-ray discs)

I'm actually calling bullshit on them with this. They were way ahead of the curve as far as limited, super deluxe, special foofy la-la packaging goes. So it's no surprise that there's several versions of this going to market. But only including the bonus DVD, which is what a lot of long time fans actually want, on the most expensive set is a huge party foul, imo. There should be a two dvd version, just like there's a double blu-ray, period.
