Stevie Wonder's Conversation Peace

Okay, now I've been downing this album for a while now ever since I got it 13 years ago and with one listen to it this evening, I have to say this is an extremely underappreciated record. This is a hot release and the production is killer too. I don't care what anyone says. This should've been Stevie's comeback, but I think it was released way too late and the focus shifted away from the album and actually onto the single For Your Love. I'm listening to Sensuous Whisper right now and I'm amazed by the energy and jazz-influenced flavors of the songs...it just kicks with Anita Baker's supporting vocals. Can't believe I underestimated this before, but as I'm sitting here listening to this, I have to say this is a great album. Any love for this album?

Some of my favorites:

"I'm New" and the title track, "Conversation Peace", are absolutely wonderful. I had many of this album's songs on repeat over and over a few months ago.

It truly is an underappreciated album. "Sensuous Whisper" does with R&B and Jazz what "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing" did with R&B and latin back in the day, just mixes them together perfectly for a nice groove.

I also love the horn section in Edge Of Eternity.

Got much love for the album. I love I'm New and the harmonies in the bridge - Killer.

My fave is Taboo to Love on that album. Also love Tomorrow Robins Will Sing and Treat Myself cause they lift my spirits all the time. Well I love anything Stevie anyway, my least fave on that album though is "sorry" never really was fond of it.

Stevie just performed "Take The Time Out" live a couple weeks ago on the Stand Up 2 Cancer telethon. Performed it with Dave Stewart and Natasha Beddingfield.

Definitely not my favorite Stevie album, but it's not as bad as I remember. I recently dug it out and gave it a spin and liked it.

I really liked I'm New. Taboo is great. Cold Chill is cool, but P's mix is better. Good album, but mega cheesy in places.

In Square Circle was the first Stevie album I purchased. I had to get the rest of them after that.
