Lil Wayne Releases I Am Not A Human Being From Prison

LIL WAYNE has released his new album 'I Am Not A Human Being' (27th September 2010), despite still serving a prison sentence for criminal possession of a weapon. It is the rapper's eight studio album and follows up his 2010 'rock' record 'Rebirth', which despite drawing largely negative reviews from the press, went gold in the US.

Wayne still has several months left to serve in prison, but the 28-year-old caught up with MTV via a telephone interview to speak about 'I Am Not A Human Being', saying, "Making the album was totally fun, because I love recording. That's what I love to do, next to breathing. I made sure I had some material before I came in here to release while I was in here". Wayne also spoke about the amount of fan mail he has received since being in prison, something he says has kept him inspired to make more music, he said, "When I read those letters, that fan mail, and see what they say about what my music does for them, and how it helped them through situations ... to read that, that makes me take my words and my whole outlook on what I'm doing a lot more seriously".

In July 2007, police arrested Wayne in New York City after he was found to be smoking marijuana near his tour bus following a performance at the Beacon Theatre, however, authorities later discovered that the rapper was carrying a .40 caliber pistol. After a delay in the trial, the 28-year old was eventually sentenced to a year in prison in March 2010, but told MTV that he hopes to be released on November 4th.

I can´t stand that guy but there must be something good about him when people like Nas,Erykah Badu and countless other artists that I like seem to have no problem collaborating with him.

Regardless of how I feel about Lil Wayne, nobody deserves to be in prison for a WHOLE YEAR just for smoking weed and carrying a weapon. He didn´t shoot anybody, right? Or did he?

And why such a harsh sentence? Is it illegal to carry a gun in NYC?

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
