Notorious B.I.G. - One More Chance (Hip-Hop Remix ft. Total)

For some reason, I preferred this version over the album track and the first remix of the song (which sampled DeBarge). Oddly this song is a remix of the DeBarge-sampled remix version lol I used to hear it on urban stations.

I prefer the remix too. Loved this song back in the day. Junior high was the best time for R&B and hip hop for me cool

The "Stay With Me" remix will always be #1 in my book, but I always dug this version as well.

It's funny looking back at it. The original version, which was entirely different (and not radio friendly at all lol) was probably from BIG's state of mind upon the album's release. The original remix is what made BIG a crossover star obviously and this remix kept BIG going as far as rap/urban audiences went in 1995. You couldn't escape BIG in '95.

nod That is definitely the first remixed version. It was remixed because Puffy wanted BIG to win a crossover audience (and more ladies at his concerts lol) so his production team set it up to be a smooth R&B remix and Faith, Mary J., Aaliyah and Changing Faces just happened to be at a party together so the producers got them together and BIG recorded his vocal on the remix on the first take. This was out after "Big Poppa" became a big hit so "One More Chance" was remixed to match that song's success...and obviously it worked.

Very much so, it was a great idea. I love when 2 genre's of music can blend together.

Yeah it's odd how it used to work back then and nowadays they don't sound right. I don't get that lol but the '90s was a weird time when those genres actually worked for each other rather than against each other. Of course what's being deemed as R&B and hip-hop nowadays is not actually accurate now. lol

And instead of feeling good, I feel awkward hearing it. So whenever anyone plays that music, I go back to this. lol
