Tito Jackson as a guitarist and performer (videoclip) Especially for those of you who don't think Tito has it. He obviously posesses som serious chops. Great audio and picture quality as well:

I like those pants and Tito has been great since the 70s. There a clip from that Mexico concert where he and the band go at it at an intermission. PRINCE: Always and Forever

Tito sings the 1st verse and a few other lines in this song. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Tito doesn't get enough credit for his guitar playing. The whole damn family is talented.

was that a shot at Janet? ...
Oh come on now...Janet's awesome

As talented as the DeBarges, Sylvers, Isleys and Gibbs?
To be honest, the ones in the family that have talent are (and they're not in order): Michael Jermaine Tito Randy Janet Marlon
I would say Jackie has marginal talent as does Rebbie.
La Toya? Yeah I'm still trying to figure that out. [Edited 10/6/10 21:03pm]

Me too, brutha But I think you covered a good portion of the Jackson clan there.

!!!!
BINGO!!!! | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Ha! The only Jackson female who can sing is Rebbie. Janet's only talent is Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.

I saw a clip of Tito a while back and I was impresssed. And it was jazz, not blues. He obviously knows how to play--and sing, which I actually had not seen before today. I like that he does his thing and is not held back by expectations of superstardom.
I remember a while back, the story of Jermaine not paying child support and not working because he felt it would "lower his market value" to do anything but a major stadium tour with Michael or some such nonsense. Jermaine could just as easily do his thing as Tito. My Legacy

I don´t know what to make of Jermaine. He´s annoying to me and I´d always rather go see Tito than him. I couldn´t care less about him and I find the fact that he´s doing MJ numbers today embarrassing. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

But if he wanted to, he could do small theaters and do his own music and it might be decent, right?
This was before michael's death that i was talking about, but seemed like he'd rather do nothing than be anything less than a superstar. My Legacy

yep, jermaine and the rest of the brothers could have soldiered on as the jacksons. other groups have done it - commodores, supremes, for example. though, like those groups, they would have experienced a certain drop off in interest because of the departure of the lead singer, if they were into music - as opposed to superstardom - the jacksons could have continued to perform. after the guys went to cbs/epic, mj, jackie and randy showed themselves as capable songwriters. jackie and randy could have continued to write. jermaine had always been the second lead in the j5 and he has a pleasant voice, if not immediately recognizable like mj's.
these guys could have even turned to producing others if there was no longer interest in them as a group. they had the tools, they had more contacts in the business, they had money. they had a lot more than say, jimmy and terry when they started working with their sister. but no. b/c they weren't going to be 'superstars', they decided they weren't going to be anything, i guess.
in the wake of mj's death, unfortunately, whatever they do seems like advantageous profiteering. jermaine was just at the hard rock in vegas doing a (disasterous from accounts) show in which he didn't bother that much with his own tunes, but instead focused on mj and jackson songs that he wasn't a part of. but like tito said after mj's death, 'now, it's our turn to shine'. i don't see the shine lasting very long. The attention is still squarely on Michael (and to a lesser degree right now, Janet).

... ya think ?
i think the potential was there, she did some cool stuff on the Jackson's tv shows
and i dig some of her 90's work
Too bad that Bryan Loren's production of "What You Need" is not on the tube

Well I didn't mean she had little to no talent. I think it was a label thing though. They only signed her because she was a Jackson so maybe we didn't get to see what she really had to offer. Same with Jackie. It's like the eldest members were just posted for the Jackson name and didn't really use their talents. [Edited 10/7/10 16:39pm]

Yeah, could've be something like that. It seemed Rebbie made a few efforts with 2 80's album and 1 in the 90's from which i enjoy some tracks. Don't know if Jackie's only album has become a collector's item with the Jacksons fan-community.
