There`s no need to complain about FunkyTown Grooves cds being vinyl-rips anymore.

FTG have now for around 1 year been collaborated with Donald Cleveland in the USA and every release is legit and from the original mastertape.

So since the Janice McClain and Gene Van Buren cd everything sounds very nice indeed.I have bought many titles and im happy with them all and believe me the sound quality is very important to me.

And now FTG will be doing reissues from Capitol Records also.So finally let`s hope for many great titles as Charles Veal,O`Bryan,Donna Washington,Pure Gold,Mystic Merlin,Peabo Bryson,Melba Moore.................................

Awesome news man Looking forward to those future goodies of Capitol. Maybe as a good second series of what came out a few years ago

BRICK: SUMMER HEAT / AFTER 5 Although best remembered for their chart-topping 1976 single "Dazz," Brick nevertheless carved a nice niche for themselves in the annals of jazzy funk. With the release of their 1981 album, SUMMER HEAT, under the nimble fingers of producer Ray Parker, Jr., they hashed together a solid set. "Sweat (Til You Get Wet)" is pure early era Brick, packed with solid horn breaks, sexy guitars, and jamming bridge. They followed that in 1982 with the another album, AFTER 5.

THELMA HOUSON: BREAKWATER CAT / NEVER GONNNA BE ANOTHER ONE Thelma Houston continued recording into the 1980s, beginning with the RCA release BREAKWATER CAT, which reunited her with Jimmy Webb who'd produced her debut SUNSHOWER (which was reissued earlier this year on Soulmusic.com records). This album, like their earlier collaboration, was a commercially overlooked critical success. The 12" release of "Suspicious Minds" became a popular club hit. Thelma followed up in 1981 with NEVER GONNA BE ANOTHER ONE. The album performed well in the urban and club/dance music markets. It includes the two major Hot Dance/Club Play chart hits, "If You Feel It" and "96 Tears".

CHOCOLATE MILK: WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER / MILKY WAY WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER (1977) and MILKY WAY (1979), Chocolate Milk's fourth and fifth albums, are combined on this Funky Town Grooves disc. These were two of the band's most popular releases and they were the source of a few hit singles, namely "Girl Callin'" (which went Top 20 R&B), "Say Won'tcha," and "Groove City." Though Chocolate Milk hailed from Memphis and benefited from extensive assistance from New Orleans R&B king Allen Toussaint, their two albums here have more of a slick, laid-back, West Coast feel to them.
