Produced by Capitol Records' Funk, Soul and Jazz legends Fonce Mizell & Larry Mizell, the album made #2 on the R&B album chart and #6 on the US Pop album chart, achieving Platinum status in the process. The album returned the group to the top thirty of the R&B album chart and featured the oft-sampled R&B #13 hit DO IT GOOD. Like their debut album, it was produced by Capitol Records' Funk, Soul and Jazz legends Fonce Mizell & Larry Mizell. The album makes its international CD debut with this release. Liner notes include detailed interviews. Also featured are two bonus tracks.

It's a SUPERB album  I love the songs "Do It Good","The Rainbow's End" and "Dance".After years of searching for this album,I found it on vinyl a few years ago.I'm thrilled that it's finally making its CD debut. |

I'm just now noticing that along with the EW&F "Faces" CD, this is the same company that released the "Odyssey" remaster that I picked up a few months ago. And judging from THAT project, I'm not so sure I would trust any of these other "remasters" that they're promoting.
The Odyssey remaster did NOT sound like it was remastered from the original master tapes, there was very little separation between the instruments, just sounded like they tweaked the sound levels here and there. Nor was there much said about the remastering process once I got into the liner notes.
I'll wait and hear back about what you guys think of any of Big Break Records other remasters before I get excited about any of this stuff. I'll be watching and waiting, but for the here and now... I'll pass. I'm not so sure they're doing any of these classic albums justice. "There's Nothing That The Proper Attitude Won't Render Funkable!"

I just sent a quick email out to Big Break Records and Cherry Red Records, asking them to explain to me in detail their remastering process. Here's part of my note:
Can you tell me a bit about the remastering process the current BBR catalog of classics has undergone? Was it done from the original master tapes? If not, what was the source used for the remastering process? Is it 24 bit remastering? Please provide as much information as you can regarding what qualifies these titles as being "remastered". I'm concerned mainly because I had already purchased the Odyssey [Expanded Edition] that was promoted as "remastered", and quite honestly, I feel the sound quality was lacking. So I'm interested in knowing exactly what your remastering process is before I invest in any more of your catalog.
Please respond as soon as possible, there's a large group of us that are awaiting your response.
