All that talk and y'all miss this picture? Shame. lol

Great pic. cool

There´s something wrong about that picture and I couldn´t figure out what it was. Then I read that it´s "the same half face was copied next to eachother".

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Oprah doesn't want to be Michael Jackson: the back story

by Patricia Sellers

"Oprah's Next Act,"--the new cover of Fortune--hits newsstands nationwide today. A relatedPostcard, "Oprah confesses and conq...her fear," that I posted last Thursday refers to something she said in the profile—"I don't want to be Michael Jackson"—and wow, has this post drawn a tornado of angry comments.

I'm not sure whether the rancor is directed mainly at me or at the queen of media, but mostly it comes from die-hard fans of the king of pop.

Here's the line from my post that incites the furor: The late superstar was so paralyzed by the meteoric success of Thriller that he couldn't risk his celebrity on a next big thing.

Just to be clear, that's my line, not Oprah's. So readers, don't blame her until you understand the context: When I interviewed Oprah two weeks ago in Chicago, she told me that Michael Jackson serves as a lesson to her because he was apparently stunted by Thriller's amazing success. You may not agree that Thriller was the peak of Jackson's super-stardom. Regardless, it's worth looking at the way I present Oprah's point in the actual Fortune cover story. Here she's talking about her decision to end The Oprah Winfrey Show and risk her career on OWN, her soon-to-be-launched cable network:

"My fear about 'Will the people really follow me?' -- I'm past that," says Oprah. This past summer, she says, she was reading a magazine article about Michael Jackson and was riveted by a quote from a former colleague of the late superstar. The friend said that after Jackson released Thriller in 1982 and it became the all-time best-selling album, he was paralyzed by the notion that he could never top that. "All the bells went off," says Oprah. "This is why I lived in fear about this network. I kept thinking I have to repeat the 25-year phenomenon of the Oprah show." She adds: "I don't want to be Michael Jackson."

So, there you have it. Now, on on with the debate about Oprah and Michael Jackson!

Family bonding in Sin City: Michael Jackson's children enjoy a weekend away in Las Vegas

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

It has been just over a year since the tragic death of their superstar father.

But Michael Jackson's children appeared to be a happy and healthy bunch as they spent time in Las Vegas this past weekend.

Prince Michael, 13, Paris, 12, and Blanket, 7, spent time at the Palms Resort and Casino with their cousins Jaffar and Jermajesty as well as several chaperons and bodyguards while their uncle Jermaine prepared for a performance at the Planet Hollywood Hotel.

The group left the hotel yesterday and headed to a fast food restaurant where they ordered burgers, fries, fizzy drinks, ice-cream and sweets.

The group appeared very happy and playful as the cracked jokes and made fun of each other.

The older boys Jaffar and Jermajesty, the sons of Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine, seemed protective of their younger cousins and always kept a watchful eye over them while they were outside of the resort.

Play time: The group laughted and made fun of each other like any group of children would

But despite the watchful eyes of their cousins, the Jackson clan is well protected at all times - they even have bodyguards that go to school with them.

The two eldest of Michael's children, Prince and Paris, recently broke away from the relaxed home schooling program they had been under while their fathr was alive and were enrolled in the famous Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California - near to where they live with their grandmother Katherine Jackson, Michael's mother.

Both children have a security detail who stands outside the class room and escorts them around campus.

The family's lawyer Brian Oxman said in a recent interview that the children have been adapting so well that that they hope for the bodyguards to be unnecessary very soon.

The school, which they began at the beginning of September, costs around $30,000 a year and boasts some famous graduates including Paris Hilton, Matthew Perry and even Michael Jackson himself.

Oprah's full of shit. All the fucked up stuff she does and HAS done, she's got the nerve to say this? Like, how she'll have a show about pedophiles and then go right on air and mouth off unproven statements to her audience, such as that 'over 9000 penis' thing. Or how she'll advertise all that crazy shit that's 'worked for her.' Or funding that Australian trip for her audience with taxpayer money?

All the while, did she ever feature any of those victims from her school in South Africa that had to close down on her show? No. Guess they don't exist in Oprah's world.

Okay, not an Oprah thread but I agree with you! Why didn't Oprah start a girls' school in Chicago, near the poverty-sticken areas around her studio?! Reportedly, she said after touring a few schools in the U.S. that too many students wanted cell phones and Ipods instead of books! Excuse me, but when you are a major participant in a culture that eschews things (as in Oprah's Favorite Things shows) in a Capitalist society, what do you expect?! And her dream school in Africa failed because of mismanagement and lack of over-sight for these at risk girls... I wonder what happened to them... Don't throw stones at MJ, Oprah--look at yourself! (End of Rant) neutral

I'm kinda indifferent to oprah but she has more clout than most people, not that that means much. anyway, didn't like the way she talked and treated michael, and waited til the start of the new season to talk about Michael. Paul Mooney hates her, said that she should "Clean up your own backyard" about the africa schools and in response to her saying that american kids want to much he said "yeah, they saw your show". I don't know, I never saw anything special about oprah, like a good portion of successful people they were just plain lucky.

Whenever I see pics of Michael's kids out with the fam...I can't help but wonder what he would think. I can't help but what MJ would think. I just feel like, to a large degree, his parenting techniques/ideas are being undermined. He went to great lengths to assure they didn't have to grow up being known by the media, and once he passes, it is like a daily occurrence. I can't go one week without seeing photos of them. Kinda saddens me.

Well said. That bitch is a straight up brat. She's only crying about it now, because she feels guilty as all hell. Now she's going to go BACK on Oprah after she 'claims' that she wasn't aware of how she was portrayed on the show and she wants to clear up any 'misunderstandings.' There were none. She got dumped, she got mad. Then he died, now she's got sad.

Whatever. I'm glad they divorced. Had Michael converted to scientology I would have been crushed.

Don't you think that scientology would have kept him away from troubles in 00's?... And also from financial troubles altogether?

Yeah, you'd say "At which price?" biggrin - But somehow, somewhere I have a feeling that part a reason for MJ witchhunt was his independency. It was just dangerous.

Beeing as famous and as influental as him you GOT to belong somewhere (To masons. To scientology. To mafia. To political party. To devil worshippers at the end).

It's a farewell from independency, but they'd have his back when he's in trouble. On the other hand he'd stop to be unpredictible in public eyes - at least theoretically biggrin

I always thought MJ had the right idea with his children. I knew he wasn't ashamed of them or anything to hide their faces. He was trying to protect them. A long time ago, I realized that Mike's fame was too big and it was hindering him from being what society would expect as a "normal" father. Just because they never caught him grilling hamburgers or driving his kids from soccer doesn't mean he wasn't a great dad. Just seeing him with his children in the home movies, the affection, the care...Michael was a great dad. And I personally don't like the fact the kids are more exposed nowadays. But what can we do? sad

True, but these kids can't live behind Spiderman masks for their entire lives. IF MJ was here, there was going to come a time when the kids were going to tell him they didn't wanna wear them anymore. They're growing up.

That may have been true and being connected with that greedy ass cult might have kept him alive, but I much rather respected the fact that he died living under his own terms rather than still being alive, brainwashed, and financially supporting that shady cult masquerading as a religion. I can respect that way more in the long run, because it showed that Michael Jackson didn't answer to anyone, but himself. Even if shit was spiraling out of control at one point or whatever happened, he was still living for Michael Jackson and everything that, truly, mattered to him.

Even with all of the drama surrounding him, I think that shines better in the long run and is way better for his legacy. That, in itself, is way more inspirational for future generations, imo.

This is probably why I get kind of annoyed when people try to paint him out as being this helpless victim all his life who had no control over anything. Yet, at the same time I get super annoyed when people try to paint him as some evil maniacal super-villain. He wasn't either.

You know, I also find it strange biggrin

There are so many people describing MJ as "easy to lead" and it seems to be true at many points. He got himself involved in plenty of shady projects (movies, film studios, Las Vegas roboters, etc.). Charities a la Shmuley. He would fall for any soppy story about sick kids (a la Arviso), hungry kids (Bashir) or fox hunt whatever.

If he was so easy to lead how come that sci. never managed to get hold of him? As meisters of brainwashing? biggrin

Growing up: Michael's children Prince, Paris and Blanket seem to be happy in the company of their cousins

They are all great looking kids! I just hope they can remember what their father tried to teach them and keep their feet planted on solid ground. I really do pray for them as well as my own!

I sure hope these children are not footing the bill for everyone.

Because we know Jermaine has no money.

Listing price: $28,995,000
Interior: 17,171 sqft
Bedrooms: 7
Bathrooms: 13

Although the listing price has dropped more than $9 million from 2008, it is also infamously the home where Michael Jackson passed away last year, which could potentially either lure or scare away buyers. Although Jackson did not own the home, he was renting it for a reported $100,000 per month while he rehearshed his "This is It" tour.

This French Chateau is located in the Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles and includes a "glamorous" theater room, wine cellar, elevator, gym, guest house, a pool and expansive gardens on the 1.26 acre property. The home also features 12 fireplaces and an indoor spa.

In order to even view the home, interested buyers must go through an extensive "pre-buying" check, to avoid any paparazzi.

I wonder why these big houses always have more bathrooms than bedrooms? confuse

Watching Moonwalker tonight

It's gonna be weird without him.

He saved our lives...

I'm gonna miss him

Watching Moonwalker has me kinda choked up tonight. Everything

these kids said at the end of this film, makes me think of his passing.

All those feelings just cut to the core of how I feel when I think of him.

But the one that rings the most true is.... "i wish he'd come back."

I remember seeing Facebook groups shortly after MJ's passing called

"If we all cry at the same time maybe Michael will come back"...watching

this just made me realize how strong of an impact Michael will forever have

on my life through his art, and for just being so strong, so talented, and such

a generous person.

Moving on....Random question about Moonwalker

1) On the building MJ walks out of it is called "Michael's Music." Was

there a subplot we didn't know about? If so, explain.

MJ is so cool. Not even Spider-Man could save the day

and perform a sold out concert. I love Moonwalker. It and Batman 89

were my childhood movies!!!!!
