I was just out of high school and out on my own when this song came out. I don't remember where I was when I first heard it (probably a record store), but in an instant it became my personal soundtrack for falling in love. I didn't know how but some kinda way I was gonna find him or he was gonna find me or he was gonna find me finding him or ... something ...

I'm listening to it now and it still feels the same way.

They played this song on R&B radio here in NYC so much... then I saw the video was like HOLY SHIT THAT'S A WHITE WOMAN!!! I was floored! lol She did a Rick Astley on me!

I loved her short hair, it was what stood out to me most, and of course her voice. My other fav from her is This Is The Right Time and her Barry White remake of Never Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw her video before I heard it on the radio. At five you didn't make a connection with a voice and someone's color. lol Hell at 26 I still don't. Every time I hear a voice like Lisa's I don't think about the color. I guess it never shocks me when someone that don't look like me sings like that. lol

lol I hear you. I thought it was kinda cool tho, she was totally not what I expcted. Looking back on it now I'd say she was one of the people who made me begin to appreciate all forms of music, no matter who was making it or singing it. To this day my musical tastes are all over the place... folks don't be understandin' my eclectic taste in music. cool

That's very close to how I feel about the song, too. nod

Springtime, my senior year in high school. cloud9 The song is actually somewhat sad, but I ignored (most) of the lyrics, and for me it became a sort of anthem ushering in not so much a search for a lover, but new adventures, exploration and my grown-up life to come. What an awesome vibe. And I agree the track does still feel the same! nod

Love her, too.

Love the version with Barry, which was the original. His vocals were taken off, once released here.
