heard these earlier. i like both tracks. there's something a bit haunting about "little girl". i can see why that was left of music. though i'm sure it's not the finished version.

"Set the Right" sounds like something you would expect from an album called "American Life". The album had very little about american life and and seemed mostly personal when the opposite was expected considering the first and even second single.
"Little Girl" is nice but very much like "Little Star" and if she already had "What It Feels Like For A Girl", that's a bit much. [Edited 9/18/10 19:42pm] | |

Unless Madonna is saving these tracks for a future project (new album,box set,movie soundtracks,remasters,etc) then I think she should leak these songs.She (and her fans) aren't getting any younger.Why let these songs collect dust in a vault somewhere? Open the floodgates and let the fans have a little fun! I think all older artists should do this. | |

these have some potential. I'm going to have to re-visit these and the last batch again when I'm in a hardcore Madonna phase.
granted they're most likely demos, but the problem I've got with these is the same problem I've got with her last few albums. it's the "I took singing lessons" Madonna. odd- & over-enunciation, thin, phoned in vocals, barely-there lyrics.
Give me that "breathy-torchy-from-the-gut-not-a-great-singer" Madonna of the 80's and 90's. I'm In Love With Love overcomes most of this, I think. but that could just be the poor quality of the file making it sound like she's got a little more energy and inspiration.
overall, I like most of them.
I just miss the passion she used to infuse her songs with. It made up for a lot. | |

it's totally her she is feeling gaga's heat she is WELL into her 50's has a tour upcoming with no new record has no distribution deal no album til 2012 hasn't been working on new material hard candy flopped in the US (for her previous standards, minus AL, at least) these are all in good - decent - hi quality it's her and her management when have we EVER heard these leak - at this rate - while the internet has been big, what, 11 years? 15? it's her I'll leave it alone babe...just be me | |

a few points/questions
if she wants to show up Gaga, these are some nice tracks as outtakes go, but there's no Poker Face or Bad Romance to be found in the bunch.
she's not interested in making music at the moment. i'd she's less interested in sub-standard outtake material from past flops (HC, AL) leaking, if she's looking to gain on Gaga's heat.
what do you mean no distribution deal? Live Nation is who she's signed tol, but she has nothing to distribute. when she does, they'll easily find someone to distribute it.
my guess is that now she's no longer with WB, someone with access to demos and outtakes that she submitted for various projects or as bonus tracks or abandoned compilations/box sets over the years has been leaking them.
or Caresse Henry had them and someone close to her has been giving up the goods since her death earlier this year. | |
