She can say all of that and more if she wants. She's a star ($uper$tar) who has stuck her neck out for my community where a lot of other folk wont. So to me, if she wants to give an interview that sounds arrogant, or just plain like she's from some koo-koo dimension...fuck it...do it and I will applaud you for it. She at least puts her money/star power where her mouth is.

yeahthat

Least she ain't saying she's a legend...yet. lol

Let her...fuck it. lol

Not sure what "community" you're talking about.

But even so, I believe faithfully "When you give to someone in need, don't do as the hypocrites do--blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get.
Let not your left hand know what your right hand is doing, Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you"
I'm not at all religious, nor do I believe in a "father,"

But the "good" book got it right when it comes to charity. And what the Lady seems to be doing is blowing trumpets in the streets, which trumps the actual charity.

She needs to check herself

seriously

I'm referring to the Amish community, of course.

You know what? That sounds nice, real nice, that you should give or do and not blow your own trumpet...and it is. I try to do that too. But so the fuck what if you give and do and then go and blow it??? You still gave and did. Especially in a world where so many don't do a damn thing for anyone.

So what's the big deal, really? There is absolutely nothing wrong with getting recognition for some good shit you've done.

As far as the bible passage.

If the bible is supposed to be the Word of God, then by that very passage he shoulda kept a lot of stuff to himself. I mean, by passin it on to be put in a book that millions and millions worship...that's kinda like blowin his own trumpet. Just a lil.

You know whats tired? THIS KIND OF INTERVIEW! She totally showed that she is nothing more than a HYPE artist, she fits right in with the normal crowd. All the contrived quotes are found in this interview, "my next is album is my best" and the funny thing is that if Alicia Keys interviewed or even Beyonce and said this shit we would have a 10 page thread going, but of course we tend to give passes to some. But just imagine the bullshit arrogance to say this shit, regardless of who you are, shit, you got one fucking album that happend to be big in a time when music was not selling, but outside of sales she hasnt done anything new, theres no ground breaking shit here, just some catchy pop/dance and some shock value vids, where is that new?

^Her music has nothing to do with groundbreaking, I still don't get why she's treated as the new Bjork or Radiohead by the zealous fans. Her stuff are not that different from what Britney, Rihanna, Gwen, Nelly, Justin etc have been doing in the past several years. "Paparazzi" is like a Nelly Furtado/Timbaland reject, "Telephone" was done by the ancient Rodney Jerkins and everyone knows how "Alejandro" is a rip off of Ace of Base stuff to ride on the 90s nostalgia that's been pushed by labels these days.

Her producer already said the new album will include the SAME stuff they did together, the "ra-ra-roma-roma" hooks that are "good for non-English speaking countries" and that she has "her own sound" now because she can't stray that much away from the winning formula (http://www.theprophetblog...-her-sound).

Of course she's going to say it's her best album ever but to think she's going to be completely different to show she's SUPER-HUMAN and that the label won't force her to keep on doing the same stuff to earn the cash will make a many disappointed. She's just going to say half of the songs are about "don't ask don't tell", she's gonna film another video with military dancers and that will be heralded as the "political Gaga".

I think she's letting her success go to her head lol No one's new album is gonna "change the world".The 80s was the last era in which artists were truly breaking new ground.

FYI, Gaga is coming to Portland, Maine tomorrow to participate in a DADT rally at 4pm. She'll only be a few blocks from my house! I may walk down to see what she looks like, but I'm not a fan of her music so I won't be staying long. She'll be in Deering Oaks if any of you are in the area. smile

I think the problem is people fall into her trap , I see all these essays written about her how's she's not groundbreaking etc . ummm She Likes the attention and you keep giving it lol . I don't care she entertains me , a couple of artists I like are overly confident and think they changing music when they not. I'm used to it.

I have no strong feelings either way for Gaga -- I'm waiting for all the overwrought style to die down enough that her true musical talent, which I do believe she has, takes center stage.

In the meantime, statements like this make me cringe. They so often guarantee a project will fall short of the messianic promises. disbelief I wish her well.

It's like they just keep on saying "she ain't gonna be shit". Only thing it does is BOOST her to the point where she'd not only be there doing something, it'll be to the point someone would wanna threaten her just so she won't invade airwaves. lol

I'm sure this new CD will be good and sell well (even though I haven't liked not one of the new songs she's previewed). But, a red flag always goes up for me when I hear an artist start talking like this. It never seems to work out the way they predict. And it sort of takes the fun out of it when they are too self-aware, if that makes any sense. The name-dropping seems kinda forced, too. Oh well....good luck to her.

I think the big/good news is that she's marketing this as an album, not a collection of iTune singles.

thumbs up! And an even bigger fan now.

If you agree that Don't Ask Don't Tell is some unconstitutional bullshit, please call your senator(s) right now at (202) 224-3121 and ask him/her/them (as nicely and as clearly as you can) to join Senator Harry Reid and Senator Carl Levin in opposing Senator John McCain's filibuster and in voting to repeal it. (Visit the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network for more info. Find your senator.) You KNOW more than one senator has asked, "Who's this bitch that got these brats blowin up my phone like this? Damn!"

Oh my lookahere, there's even a thread going on about it!
