Of all the musicians they could have chosen: The Police or Sting, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Genesis or Phil Collins, Carlos Santana etc. the NFL chose the corniest pop act in the business. I actually didn't mind the NFL's strategy of booking veteran rock acts like Prince, Tom Petty and the HB, The Stones and Bruce Springsteen. The irony is that I like the old Black Eyed Peas when they were a 3 man b-boy and freestyle group but the pop songs diluted them. Get ready to see BEP pull guest stars left and right like the 2001 halftime act with Puffy, Aerosmith, and Nelly.

I guess they could not find an act with real talent, so they had to settle for this.

This is just a poor attempt by the NFL to appear "hip" again by going with a younger act who has a younger audience. After they've been set in geezerland since '05. Mind you, Prince probably gave one of the greatest half-time shows in its history but everyone else was too safe for my me.

Spare me that crap. Can't they choose a band that can play some instruments instead of just jumping around on a stage? Fortunately I'm not a big football fan so I can pass on this halftime show.

Totally agree. I'm a hip-hop head but today's era of rappers' (excluding Jay-Z and Eminem) music is better heard than seen. I'd rather see a band with pedigree play. I don't know what new band is popular in music but those cats deserve to play in front of that big of an audience more than BEP.
